    The Bean is loose!

Okay. Somebody left the front gate open, and Baked Bean has gotten out and wandered off again.

If you happen to spot him, do not approach, do not get him wet, do not expose to direct sunlight, and whatever you do, don't feed him after midnight. (It makes him gassy.)

    Follow up to Bleh

    Modmyths asks:

Have you thought about starting up a Go Fund Me for it?

(It being my broken water line, just to be clear.)

The answer is no, I hadn't thought of that.

    But!

I went out and got more bids, and found a general contractor who could do the job for 3k.

    A Correction

It has come to the attention of management that a typographical error has occurred in chapter 13 of New Noses Know.

Specifically, the name of the thestral being interviewed by Garbanzo and Lima Bean. The story egregiously listed her name as Short Shift.

    Her name is Night Shift.

A Mysterious Mystery Appears! · 2:15am January 7th

From the next chapter of New Noses, which I'm still working on...

“So, Missus Glow, what is this new item that you’ll have on display?”

Bean grinned to himself. Twilight was nearly dancing on her tiphooves, and she looked like she would burst from excitement at any moment. It was always nice when there was another pony who shared his enthusiasm.

“It’s right over here. I do hope you’ll forgive me for not giving you details about this peytral before now; I wanted to see your genuine first reaction.”

“A peytral?” Celestia asked.

“Indeed.” Missus Glow pushed open the doors to the main hall and led the royal entourage inside.

Twilight gasped with delight as she viewed the familiar items around her. Bean gasped at the sheer number of exhibits and the informative displays around each one. Apollo squealed with delight because everypony else was making noise, and he wanted to join in on the fun.

“What can you tell us about it?” Celestia asked, looking around for the new display.

“From the intricate markings and the rate of decomposition, I estimate this peytral is actually from the end of the Pre-Unification Era. What really intrigues me is that it has several solar sigils engraved on it, thus having a connection to you, Princess Celestia, before your ascension to the throne of Equestria with Princess Luna.”

“Where did you acquire this peytral from?”

“I was contacted by an archeologist by the name of Dig Dug. He has a talent for finding old sites and treasures, and when he showed his latest find, I knew we had to have it here in our collection.”

“Did he say where he found this peytral?” Celestia asked, with some concern.

“Somewhere near Baltimare or Manehattan, I think,” Missus Glow replied, adding to Celestia’s growing dread.

“Princess?” Twilight had noticed the change in Celestia’s tone, and she offered her mentor a concerned look. “What’s wrong?”

“I hope I am wrong,” Celestia said in a low, serious voice. “But if I am not…”

“Right here, Your Highnesses.” Missus Glow was all smiles as she stopped in front of a marble pedestal, and she motioned to the centerpiece of her exhibit with a flourish and a giggle. “Well? What do you think, Princess Celestia? Is this familiar to you?”

Bean took a quick moment to glance over the displayed peytral. It was similar in appearance to his wife’s own neckwear, but the center of it held a bright red ruby, set in the center of Celestia’s stylized sun. Several smaller suns of various types ran up each side, mirrored to each other as they went, and on the back, there was a small, neat inscription in Old Equish that Bean couldn’t read.

It was quite interesting, but Bean completely forgot about it when he glanced up and saw Celestia’s reaction.

It was a sight he hoped he’d never see again. Celestia was frozen in place, her eyes wide in horror and her whole body was trembling slightly. Her body language
screamed for her, and ever so slowly, she turned to the wilting curator.

“I am acutely aware of the origin and history of this peytral.” Celestia’s tone was soft, but full of barely restrained fury. Bean began to check the tips of her mane and tail for embers and smoke. “Where is Mister Dig Dug now? I must speak with him. Immediately.”
