“Good morning, Miss Lulamoon.”
Trixie quickly stood, bumping her bowl of corn flakes but somehow managing not to spill the contents everywhere. “Your Highness!” She offered a quick bow to Princess Celestia. “Trixie didn’t mean to sleep in! I’ll have Prince Bean’s morning notes correlated in just a few minutes!”
“Actually, you’re up early,” Celestia said while suppressing a smirk. “There’s still half and hour until sunrise, at least.”
“Oh! Oh.” Trixie sighed in relief, plopped down in her chair, and resumed eating. “That means Trixie isn’t on the clock yet. Trixie will finish with those notes after eating breakfast.”
“It is the most important meal of the day,” Celestia offered, moving to sit opposite of the secretary. “I did not know you enjoyed corn flakes.”
“Princess Luna suggested them after Trixie accidently mentioned a… personal issue that Trixie does not wish to discuss right now,” she said with a note of embarrassment.
“Then we’ll leave it at that, but please feel free to make an appointment with Doctor Horsenpfeffer if you need to.”
“Thank you, Your Highness. Trixie will keep that in mind.”
Celestia nodded as she sat, Trixie returned to her cereal, and for a moment, there was silence.
It was doomed to a short life with Celestia around. Trixie had barely shoveled another spoonful of cereal into her mouth before the Princess spoke again.
“Miss Lulamoon?” Celestia’s tone was surprisingly subdued. “May I ask you a personal question?”
Trixie grunted, her gaze still on the nutritional information panel on the side of the cereal box.
“I was wondering if… well, in all of your travels, have you ever heard of… um, what I mean is do you know anything about something called B.D.S.M.?”
Trixie choked, then let out a weird gagging-honking noise as she desperately tried to not shoot chewed up corn flakes out of her nose, with limited success.
Celestia retreated, and her cheeks took on a bright red hue. “My apologies, Miss Lulamoon. Please forget what I asked.”
“Nuh,” she moaned, rubbing the end of her snout. “Trixie just wasn’t expecting you, of all ponies, to ask about that particular subject. Trixie is a bit surprised you’ve even heard of the term.”
