Hey guys, just want to give you all a quick update.
The next chapters of TWH and Requiem are... moving much more slowly than I like. In fact they're barely moving at all.
It's due to the fact that it seems that, in order to move forward with how I envisioned what happens next, Celestia, and to a lesser extent Luna, have to take a hit from the stupid stick. As I assume everyone reading this has read the opening chapters of this season, I think you all know how I feel about that.
It's worse in TWH as even in the show there was never an in-universe reason given as to why Celestia wanted Discord freed and the only reason my version of Celestia can give is that he's the only creature that can realistically face down an alicorn-level threat-
For now
-and that with more kirins back he might be a little more amicable to help. Even while typing this out it feels like a flimsy excuse but I just can't think of anything else. This is also why I hate that I didn't go with my original idea for Screwball because by this time she'd be a close friend and she'd help convince Midnight to give him one more chance. It's times like this I really want to rewrite the story...
The issue in Requiem isn't as bad since it's just needing for everyone to not get too suspicious of Steel Spark until it's too late but I keep making it obvious (I've re-written the opening scene a good five times because either Vine or Luna or both are way too suspicious of his actions by that point). I'm going to start trying a more subtle approach and see how that'll go.
Also, on my profile page I've put up a roster for the Bearer Guard. I know some of you said you were a bit lost since it's been a while since I've published a chapter but I honestly don't know how to sum up the story except maybe in a bullet point list. The one thing I CAN do easily is show you where I'm getting certain characters. For the record I actually am using a spreadsheet to keep track of all my OCs, so I'm sorry to all of you who might get confused in the future at the amount of characters; I don't plan to focus on more than a few at a time if I can help it.
Finally, I think I'm going to try National Writing Month again this year, aiming for 1000 words a day again. While I'd like to say all of that (IF I do that much) will be TWH related, I can't honestly say so in good faith, but I promise I will try.
That's pretty much it, hope you all are having a good day, hope you watching me like the Tube-tober vids so far, and I'll see you in the next one.
So you're having trouble with a starting point again huh? Such a pain.
I'm not sure what you should try either Ink.
Maybe have Celestia thinking in one thousand years or so he may escape again and that nipping the problem in the bud now by having become an ally is a better idea than waiting for him to become a problem again. An idea that Midnight while not liking would understand, Midnight does seem to appreciate pragmatism.

This is true and a good argument. Definitely will keep that in mind. Might also be something Discord can use later to help get them to fight.
For WTH just have Celestia own the fact it might be a stupid risk but have her say that she thinks that the rewards are worth the risk. As for Requiem, haven't read it yet so 🤷♂️ you could go with naivete more than pure stupid. I mean the cannon has already set Cely up as being kinda naive with Luna/NMM.
