I think we're at the point where graphics snobs need to go touch grass. · 12:48am Oct 12th, 2023

Maybe when it comes to games like Forza Motorsport, I really just don't care about graphics.

From the moment the review embargo broke, I was getting more and more concerned about what this game was going to do to my increasingly old rig, with articles being released about "how no cutting-edge build today can run it at 4k60 Ultra settings with ray-tracing on.

This is my first 'simcade' experience with a full wheel setup, and I'm having an absolute blast. Maybe it's because I have to pay so much more attention to not only where my hands are, but where my right foot is, and because of that, I don't notice the imperfections 200 feet down the track, or the boxy, blurry spectators in the stands. I have to pay so much more attention to my immediate surroundings and my racing line that I'm just not paying any mind to the far-off details.

But at medium settings, I'm getting a rock solid 60 FPS, and my 9700k and 3080 Ti aren't even breaking a sweat. Seriously, neither one gets into the mid-70's during the middle of a race.

End relieved rant.

remember when people played old game and enjoyed the story and could suspend thier disbelief because of the enjoyment of the game?

i truly think graphic snobs arent true gamers and their opinions don’t deserve attention

but thats my opinion

2001 halo is still good but graphic snobs would probably still bitch about it

Gameplay over graphics every time. I've played beautiful games that sucked ass and basic looking games that were incredible.

Dude I remember graphics snobs on original Playstation. (no not PS1, PS1 and PS aren't the same. Give me the gray brick or give me death!)
Graphics snobs are nothing new.

Graphic snobs have been there since the 90's when the first consoles that could push the graphical envelope started coming out.

Ugh, graphic snobs, hate 'em.

Same here. However if a game is advertised to have both photo-realistic vistas and characters, plus boundary pushing gameplay, but only delivers on one, and is a buggy mess, if I spend money on it, I'm going to seriously complain.

I find that 3D tends to look and age better when it doesn't try to be ultra realistic.

Graphics look fine to me, but the reviewers I listen to say the physics are wonky, and everything understeers way more than it should.
But these are people who are used to iRacing-levels of physics realism. I'm sure it feels fine when it's your first step toward simulation-esque racers.

Great graphics are a plus, but they aren't everything.
