Worldbuilding Workout Issue 6 + I Met Carapace · 3:01pm Jun 24th, 2023

Back in March I discovered through a series of improbable events that the legendary pre-reformed Thorax writer, Carapace, lives barely twelve miles away from me. After meeting up and hanging out, we decided to co-commission something amusing with our characters. Seeing as we both live in Florida, gators were the only logical choice.
From my latest MLP-related WW entry, and now my largest entry of fanon lore for the changelings in any single place. This blog takes and combines several blogs I made here throughout the years and adds other information I've since thought about more in-depth.
As for Carapace, don't worry about him, he's doing well, just not into horses anymore.

So what is Carapace doing nowadays? If they are publishing other fiction, would you plug it here?

Two of my favorite writers who wrote changelings. Must've been divine intervention.
That’s awesome honestly! And pretty lucky. I know I’d love to have an RL friend who I could talk to about things concerning MLP, let alone fanfiction on FIMFiction itself. And then narrow that down further to changelings. But with the show getting on in age and the community dwindling, that becomes ever more improbable. So kudos to your crazy odds!
Probably due to my favorite story I wrote 10 years ago, I’m far more partial to pre-reformed changelings myself due to their potential for storyboarding. And I loved their corrupted aesthetic. Not to say reformed changelings are lacking in potential I suppose, but in a way, I’ve always believed a certain mantra to be more interesting. The saying of “What is better? To be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?” And so the mystery of an inherently evil race before reformation was ever canon amplified my love for them in terms of writing for them.
The irony is, I never wrote something to that degree. When I wrote my changeling story, I gave them reasons to become corrupted from an otherwise morally neutral stance. Still, going back to finish my story recently and being able to ignore the reformation thanks to it was still a lot of fun to theory-craft for.
Too bad he's lost interest. I was still half hoping he'd continue writing Dear Small Pony Book, even though it's been... uh...

It was one of my personal favorites back then... I was hoping for a continuation on the part where Flurry Heart said "Thorax Armory (Amore)"... I imagined him in tears after realizing it was meant to imply he is part of the family...

At least, that's what I remember from it... could be wrong...

Changeling thematic with emotes and banners but largely a fandom server where you can talk about anything.

It felt surreal for sure, I met him on an app and the topic of fanfiction came up. When I found out we both wrote MLP fiction I asked if he posted on here under any name, and 'Not anymore but I used to go by Carapace' was not what I was expecting

And yeah, I heard the story and I think we may have teased him just a bit over finding another Changeling author randomly. Then I may have said you're an amazing writer and I love your stories xD
