    The Bean is loose!

Okay. Somebody left the front gate open, and Baked Bean has gotten out and wandered off again.

If you happen to spot him, do not approach, do not get him wet, do not expose to direct sunlight, and whatever you do, don't feed him after midnight. (It makes him gassy.)

    Follow up to Bleh

    Modmyths asks:

Have you thought about starting up a Go Fund Me for it?

(It being my broken water line, just to be clear.)

The answer is no, I hadn't thought of that.

    But!

I went out and got more bids, and found a general contractor who could do the job for 3k.

    A Correction

It has come to the attention of management that a typographical error has occurred in chapter 13 of New Noses Know.

Specifically, the name of the thestral being interviewed by Garbanzo and Lima Bean. The story egregiously listed her name as Short Shift.

    Her name is Night Shift.

What do all y'all think of this?

Canterlot.

A city of opulence and refinement that proudly hung from the side of Mount Canter as a beacon to the world of friendship and peace. Creatures from all over the world longed to travel to the majestic home of the Two Sisters, and those who did so forever spoke of the experience with awe and reverence. With such a city as its head, Equestria and her ponies were able to share the magic of friendship with any and all who sought it.

Yet, at that moment, Canterlot was the last place that Rarity wanted to be.

To be fair, if there was ever a city that could encapsulate everything that the fashionista was and what she longed for, Canterlot was it. The sophistication of the city matched that of the pony, and with each successive—and successful—fashion season that passed, the name Rarity and her Carousel Boutique became more and more of a household name. The elegant unicorn would never tire of the gilded trappings, the ornate decorations, or the general air of polished elegance that seemed to shine like the sun.

No, it wasn’t the city itself that Rarity dreaded. As she slowly made her way down the main boulevard and towards the Palace, it was the upcoming meeting with Princess Celestia and Princess Luna that mired Rarity’s emotions in the proverbial mud.

Now that Twilight Sparkle had finally been repaired properly and was back to full operating capacity, Rarity was now obliged to return her borrowed set of princess wings and to return to her original configuration.

With a heavy sigh, Rarity paused and glanced back at her beautiful feathered appendages. She had grown rather fond of them in the short time she had possessed them, and she was loath to return them. She was also not fond of the idea of returning to her original magical configuration; the increased power and ability had proven not only to be useful, but almost literally a life-saver when the latest fashion deadline had come due and Sweetie Belle had tried to ‘assist,’ in her own adorably frustrating way.

But it was for the best. She had known from the beginning that the wings and the upgrades were to be temporary, and she had no justifiable reason to retain them.

But she was going to miss them, and terribly so.

Sounds fun! I have been looking forward to the next time I see something from you.

looks good, more please.

Yes indeed, more please! :pinkiehappy:

Yes, develop it.

An LSOD sequel does sound delightful, and this is a great way to open it.

"Twilight." Rarity's voice was weak and timid, far different than her normal vocal range of emotions. Twilight Sparkle could remember dozens of 'Rarity' twists to her voice, from exaggerated accents to make her seem more sophisticated to anguish-ridden sobs of pure misery when a dress design just would not come together at the last minute, but never the weakness that permeated her words... Well, word so far.

She hurried to the door and tried to open it, but a faint pale blue fought against Twilight's more powerful violet magic, much as if the young alicorn had tried to pull on the solid granite of Mt. Canter. "Rarity," she called back through the door. "What is it? Are you in trouble? How can I help?"

"It's... not the worst possible thing," admitted the Rarity On The Other Side Of The Door. "I'm just afraid you'll be angry at me, and I really don't want you to be angry because this isn't my fault. Well, maybe a little. I... Um... Can't think of a way to explain it. I don't want to be a bother so maybe if I come back tomorrow--"

"No!" said Twilight and tugged on the immobile door again. "You're my friend, and if you're having trouble, I want to help. Please?"

"Well..."

"I promise I won't be angry," said Twilight, a promise that she would regret far sooner than expected. "Just open the door, come in, and we'll have tea. You can explain it over tea, can't you?"

"I think it will be fairly obvious before tea," said Rarity, "but if you say so..."

The door creaked open and Rarity stood downcast on the other side of the doorway, her mane drooping almost to the floor and her wings in a terrible state of sprung feathers and occasional gaps. She did not move forward, even when Twilight moved to one side and gestured with a wing of her own, but just stood there in misery with one thing that had to be mentioned.

"I... um... thought you were going to return the wings yesterday."

"I tried," admitted Rarity with a sniffle. "They won't come off."

Well, not quite what I had in mind...

Luna’s smile went from ear to ear with this news. “Then it would seem that I am correct in my assessment of your character and abilities. To take on something as complex as an operating system while still attending to your boutique and your fashions tells me that you are ready.”

“Ready?” Rarity swallowed hard. “Ready for what?”

“Miss Rarity, the recent ‘issue’ with Twilight Sparkle has proven two things: firstly, that my sister and I are in dire need of training on the newer systems and programs that are being released, and secondly, that more experts are needed in this field. With that, and with the backing of my sister, We would like to extend an offer for you to keep your wings and to join Us in the ranks of royalty.”

“You…” Rarity’s vision went blurry, and she began to swoon. “You want me… to join…”
A fainting couch appeared with a pop of blue magic, and Rarity promptly fell across it.

wait did Rarity turn into an Alicorn in the bean stories??? Did I miss something???

You didn't miss anything. Lavender Screen of Death (which this little snippet would be a sequel to) is a stand alone, not-Bean story.

Your favorite fashionista is still a unicorn in Bean's world. :yay::raritywink:

Yep. This is a story idea I consider worth pursuing.

Rarity might find the added responsibility of gaining a permanent set of wings more than offsets the power and added functionality, which is what she is familiar with up to now.

Plus, any story with Sweetie Bot is a good story.
