I know who she is and her BS shenanigans. I know she tried to copyright the term thestral but was denied because it dates back to Greek mythology, possibly older.
I was curious because I didn't recognize the initials and thought this was beef between a couple of users on this site.
When you think about it, she bit off George Lucas super hard. Think about it, an orphaned boy living with his aunt and uncle, discovers that his family has magic, is apprentices under a kooky old wizard, fights the big bad guy and his minions, finds out he has closer ties to one of the villains, kooky old wizard teacher comes back as a ghost to mentor him, is at least partially responsible for the taking down of the main bad guy.

That linked site describes creatures nothing like the actual flying fox/pony hybrids I have (and realistically, neither does "thestral"). The original title was tenuous and used due to a silly picture that has since been lost to time.

I don't think Batstralia rolls off the tongue as well, but with how absolutely terrifying the situation in the US and UK is getting for trans people, I 100% understand wanting to separate the story from someone involved in the hate parade.
HP itself feels like an ex to me as well. I grew up on the books, and I fully credit them for my love of world building and fantasy, but I just can't stomach them anymore with JK losing her mind. I volunteer with a trans charity around Las Vegas and, among other things, we help trans people in dangerous parts of the US get to the safety of Vegas and SoCal. Some of the stories they have are horrific.
