    Next chapter delayed a bit

    Hey all.

    Field season really kicked into gear in early April, so I've been getting home exhausted pretty much every day. That and a bout of creative block means the next chapter of Phoenix-born is probably not going to be out until mid-May at the earliest.

    Hazbin Hotel Episode 1 - I'm not sure I'm going to keep watching.

    So, after however many years, we finally get Hazbin Hotel. I've been waiting for it to come out since I saw the pilot. When the first episode dropped, I watched it before checking out any reviews or commentary, because I wanted to go in without any preconceptions clouding my view of the series.

    And honestly, I'm not sure I'm going to keep watching.

    Working on the next chapter, and realizing something I wish I could do.

    So, as I've written more of Rising, I've come to realize that there's something I wish I could do with the formatting. Namely, I wish I could have two columns of text, one that would represent the main narrative from Sunset's external perspective, and one that could be used for when Sunset and Philomena are sending, or when Philomena is sharing her perspective. I don't know how easy something

    Favorite Super Robot attacks

    Because I'm going through anime withdrawal due to having my internet via wi-fi hotspot and therefore must ration my data usage, and don't have access to my disk collection, here's a bunch of my favorite attack names from Super Robot anime, and the series they come from. This is by no means a complete list of all the attack names I like, but they're some of my favorites.

So, good news / bad news time. · 3:06am Apr 15th, 2023

Hey all. Got a little update. Here we go.

Good news: I got a job. And, the location is nice and remote, so I get to be away from people most of the time.

Bad news: I'm usually beat by the end of the day, so writing is slow.

Good news: Because of the remoteness of where I'm working, there's no internet aside from my hotspot, so I can't waste time on online gaming.

Bad news: Because of the remoteness of where I'm working, there's no internet aside from my hotspot, so I'm going through Destiny 2 withdrawal.

Good news: I've got most of the next chapter done.

Bad news: I'm having a hard time with the last few scenes, and haven't had the time to proofread due to the afore mentioned job.

Anyway, I'm going to go back to trying to get a few more paragraphs out before I collapse into bed. I might try to do a short worldbuilding blog to get my creative juices flowing.

Yeah, work-writing balance is a tricky thing to reach. Best of luck there.

The endless balance of this and that is pretty annoyin. I dont want to have to sleep, ive got projects to finish ;-;

I try acting out the scene myself, listen to the lines out loud and image it as a whole. The good stuff I write down the bad gets tossed or at least saved for rework. Good luck.

First, congrats on the job! Thats great to hear--especially since its a job away from a lot of people. (Because right now, if I could be somewhere remote away from PEOPLE I'd choose it.)

Second, that balance can be hard to find. I know, before my health sucked and I had a full time job, I'd get most of my writing done while eating.

Thirdly, I've found that the best way to sort through problem scenes is to have someone to use as a sounding board/rubber duck. Even if that "person" is an actual rubber duck, lol, or is done over slower communication methods, like emails or whatever. Sometimes just acting it out can help, or talking to yourself aloud too.

Whichever way you slice it, I'm glad to hear the job thing is working out, and we'll be here when you do get through the writing difficulties! :}

like I always say, the only thing worse than not having a job is having a job :B and vice versa
