The Briefest of Delays · 8:06pm Apr 9th, 2023
Happy Easter, all!
I'm typing this on my phone since I was dragged to a family barbecue which always turns into a family dinner. That being said, AppleShy won't be posting today, but I will be posting it tomorrow. Everything's going great, and I'm enjoying the new story threads that are developing.
A quick note on that. As you can imagine, I'm planting little, land mines let's call them, that I'll set off in a future story. This means that, yes, AppleShy has a definite end, and a new story will pick up where it leaves off. That's for the future, but I do have something planned.
Now, I don't want to waste an entire blog post with a simple delay notice. I've been thinking about doing a monthly blog to let everyone know what's going on and perhaps what random thoughts pop into my head.
For today, I want to list the tools I use while writing. Mainly what I use so I don't write in silence. Unlike some authors, I can't write to any music with lyrics. I'm too simple-minded for that, and I always get distracted. Instrumental is a great choice for me, and I found, by accident, LoFi music on Spotify. I checked it out as a lark and enjoyed it.
inexposure therapy by forgetme is one I've been enjoying since I like the ambiance.
When I prefer something more traditional as far as background noise goes, I am a big fan of MyNoise. The site has your standard fare of white noise and rain, but the creator, Dr. Pigeon, has a lot more sounds available.
The Pilgrim is a personal favorite, but there are several to choose from.
I think that's enough spam for one day, and I should get back to the family. Before we part, what do you listen to when you create? Can you listen to music with lyrics or work in complete silence?
I'm genuinely curious, but, most of all, I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday.
Take care, all!

That's great to hear! I have a plan, and I hope it doesn't blow up in my face.
