Question of the Week #89

Good evening (for me at least) and welcome to the question of the week.

So I've been brainstorming this idea of an MLP G5 story, where Argyle was abducted by aliens and after waking up some time later, tries to return back to Equus, to reunite with his daughter and here are some of the fruits of the matter as well as some questions.

There's a few concepts that I've been exploring and I thought I might share them a bit.

• Centuries prior, back when Discord first reigned chaos in Equestria, groups of ponies tried to flee Equestria, using magical portals with the intent to escape to other continents. However due to the chaos magic, these ponies found themselves on other planets. After coming in contact with alien life, these pony refugees gradually began populating the cosmos.
• Prior to the events of ponies appearing on these alien worlds, the other alien races had suffered from both a massive intergalactic war as well as some phenomenon that resulted in their numbers being significantly reduced. With the arrival of ponykind, it resulted in a few discoveries as well as pony alien hybrids. 👾👾
• Now this idea isn't 100% original. In this settings, Changelings are actually aliens, with the ones seen in the show (in G4) descending from a Changeling hive that crash landed on Equus centuries before, with the shifting hive and throne being remenants of the original ship.

With all that information thrown out there on the table, I have a few questions in regards to this concepts.

1. Do you have any ideas for some aliens that might be kind of cool to see in this story/setting?
2. What sort of strange situations would you like to see Argyle get into on his journey?
3. What do you think is the likelihood that some time after they retired, both Celestia and/or Luna went... To space?

You know Luna has been to space before, right?

5709356 I mean, sure she's been to the moon. What I really mean is beyond their solar system (assuming Equus is apart of a solar system like we are).

5709357 Now that's a bit harder. A solar system is about 2 light years in radius. Even if you traveled with the speed of light, you'd need 2 years to get there (from an outside observer's point of view).

Sounds like Mass Effect sequel that we want, but won't get.

aliens that might be kind of cool to see in this story/setting?

Honestly, that's a tough one. With ponies living in a fantasy world, they already have plenty of different sentient species living nearby.

'Little green ponies' can be a good concept for comedy: 'aliens are not that alien'.

Lovecraftian aliens (of any kind) are creepy by design. Can be played straight or subvereted.

Big alien Ant-ponies might make the concept of Reversed Gender Roles actually make sense due to their alien biology. Unfortunately, they are somewhat similiar to Changelings.

Honestly, one of the concepts I find fascinating and rare is Void Whales

I'm not sure if Luna wants to be in space again. Celestia - yeah, sure.

3)they probably wont retire but would change the system from absolute monarchy to something like a federation, especially if they invest in some colonies(people of the moon/lunatics want some representation)

So I'm not sure if you know this, but in the last season of the show, Celestia and Luna did retire (much to everyone's chagrin).

Adding aliens from the Star Wars universe would be interesting. XD
