The New Blood, Haitus Ends · 10:28pm Nov 25th, 2022
After months of not publishing anything in any story, The New Blood wasn't the story I expected to come back with, but it's the one I managed to finish. Not that I haven't worked on A 14th Century Friar or Homecoming (I have), but New Blood for whatever reason called me back to the frontline.
New Blood readers should not expect regular chapters (as if any of my readers in any story do... let's be honest, I'm slow and unreliable for publishing regularity), but at least it's in motion again. At least if you need to refresh yourself on what they heck happened and who everyone is, you only have one chapter to read.
Those of you who are angry that it's not a chapter from another story, believe me, no one can be more disappointed in the lack of new chapters than me. Whatever criticisms you have I guarantee I've thought of them myself. Now that I've taken the fun out of your critiques, I'll let you get back to your day.
Good to hear from you! I've been meaning to read The New Blood anyway.
It takes as long as it takes, my man.
Glad to see traction on this story again. I was disappointed when it went on hiatus after such a strong start, can’t wait to catch up.
Stories getting updates after over a year fill me with joy actually.
I read the first chapter some months ago and been curious for more... but shame on me, forgot to favorite and track this...
That said, I’m glad to know there's a new chapter of it out! I'll try to catch up soon.
I'm just glad you are taking the time to let us know. If I had to say a pet peeve of mine is when a writer here just up and leaves without even a "ttyl". This was particularly prominent when I looked at stories from the early days of the fandom, the writer would do something amazing and then POOF disappear.
Before anyone rips me a new one, I DO understand that real life happens. Be it job, school, health, kids, just plain not enjoying writing, or moving on to other things. I just wish they would cancel their stories and/or say "hey I'm going to leave" they don't OWE me a detailed explanation or anything, just don't leave us hanging wondering for 5,7,10 years if they're ever going to come back.
If I'm being honest, I was elated to see a chapter for this story! I've always been antsy about seeing more of it, and I come back to read your work really frequently. Please take care of yourself, Antiquarian.
