Wait, hold on, why is that number still growing? I haven't posted any new writing here since May! What are you all doing here?
In all seriousness, thank you all! The continual growth of that number even after I've more or less dropped out means one thing and one thing only: that people are still enjoying my stories even now, and that's exactly why all of them exist. I may disagree with my old self on some of the things I did, but these stories exist now, and it warms my heart to see them still grabbing people. I must have done something right, and you all get some grandiose adventures out of it!
I'm, of course, still writing. Wizard Space Program is currently my main project and is going really well. Final Fantasy Aleph Null is still going and is still looking to be my last fanfic.
I can't leave the concept of the multiverse well enough alone, so the new Transcendental Sequence is still there. I do very much intend to make something out of it, but right now there are other projects in the way. Getting a PhD in Physics ain't easy, and I've had struggles in the past just making sure that WSP keeps updating. But I think I've gotten things back on track. In time, that story will be told... though I give no promises it will look anything like what it does now.
Yes, I am still in University for Physics. I'm in Astrophysics studies now, with a subdivision of Numerical Relativity. My future is, from a worldly perspective, rather bright and optimistic! Hard work, yes, but very rewarding and intellectually stimulating work.
Besides writing and science (and writing about science) what else have I been doing? Well... as some people might be able to tell from my current icon, I'm quite obsessed with One Piece right now and have been for multiple months, it really is as good as everyone says it is. I could gush for hours but I'll refrain, just know that it comes highly recommended. (Though the anime version's pacing can be a mess.) I'm also playing Genshin Impact, and have recently gotten into Overwatch 2. In interacting with all these new fandoms I have rediscovered the fandoms' eternal art about complaining about the things they supposedly love. It's funny and sad at the same time, it's almost like we don't want to like things! How silly.
Other than that, I had a recent realization that I have apparently "adulted properly" and am now on my own with minimal support and am doing just fine, physically, mentally, and financially. So, victory, I guess...? Still feels odd. (Though technically I'm still in student debt, but that's looking like it'll be cut away.)
Anyway, other than that, life has basically been good. Not all that exciting but, see, I'm not like the characters in my stories, I can survive on boring life. It means crazy insanity isn't happening. Things are stable, and... honestly, I'm very lucky and thankful to be where I am.
So yeah, that's what's been up with me since I vanished. I just want to say thank you to all those who continue to follow me even though I have largely left the ponies behind. I haven't even watched G5, and I'm not entirely sure why... I guess I was just ready to move on. But know that I still come back and review SotS and my other stories every now and then just for the nostalgic memories. I had an excellent time here, and I'm glad those times are still ringing forward and influencing people even today. Thank you so much for 600 followers. I doubt I'll ever post another ponyfic, but hey, you never know, my policy is just not to write fanfics for franchises that don't welcome it, and MLP has historically welcomed such a large variety of fan engagement. (Though that does depend on who you're talking to at any given time, ehe.) I still don't think I'll come back here in any major way though, my original stories need to be told, and they're eager to get out.
I'll be sure to post any and all updates to this account, even if they aren't pony related. (Though I suppose there are cute unicorns in my original works... HMMMM...)
So, now I turn this around and ask, how have you guys been in this time? What's up? Has the site seen any major changes or shifts since left? How's G5 upset the balance of the poydom?
I'm always open to conversations, too, any of you can PM me at any time to just talk about stuff, and I'm always willing to offer writing advice if I can.

G5 is a mixed bag, and definitely had less thought put into it than its predecessor. But it is still more grist for the mill, and "underdeveloped" is another way of saying "ripe with potential."

Hard to not follow the master of some of the best multiverse fics in the site.
Unless I missed something — which is very likely, for the record — everything's kinda felt like usual. Some users left, some users joined, stories kept getting published (most notably, those meant for the 3rd Cozy Glow Short Story Contest, the Ancestral Tributes Contest, and a multi-author anthology written as a gift for the user Zontan), so on and so forth.
In other news, everyone's falling in love with a G5 side character who seems primed to become this fandom's answer to The Owl House's Hunter, so hey, I suppose there's that!
You know, my brain has barely even registered that you've left ponies behind, what with them popping up in all your original projects in one way or another. Looking forward to how you do with writing original takes on everyone's favorite quadrupeds in the Sequence

Ah, potential... but the greatest potential of all is the completely blank page. I've been discovering a certain joy that comes with the absolute freedom of original works that writing fanfics didn't have, at least not usually. (Amber Ashes being a notable exception.)

I think, ultimately, the writers and the actors appreciate bronies, even if they think we're worthy of criticism for some of our actions. They generally approve of our works and conventions and stuff. The company Hasbro as a whole I think is pretty divided on the subject, but they're not really the ones making most of the actual art are they?

The influence of the technicolor equines is strong in me. I leave them behind, but cute unicorns are generic things. Yes, I use them entirely because of my history here, but it's not like anyone can yell at me for it. :D Also, evil space bicorns? Is that a Transcendental Sequence entry I've forgotten? (Unsurprising if it is, there are 256 of them).

232, Myriad Invasions. Said Bicorns are posed as the looming main antagonist and ultimate threat. I felt like I had to slip some ponies in as an antagonist race in one of the sci fi ones, at least.
Writing stories is only the first step.
When you’re tired of that, we come here to enjoy reading more of them, and everyone including you and I can do that.
You are a very good writer that's why it grows, this reminds me I often forget to follow
