The computer dying re: my last blog happened shortly before work, so I hadn't really had time to troubleshoot too much.
I've now been off work an hour, figured out the issue, and got the computer working! Mostly.
The computer actually acted like it wanted to start up after I pulled the graphics card out, so I fiddled with it a bunch, and put it in a different slot, and I was able to get it to boot up! (Fortunately. That's a good graphics card, and I'd be irritated if it'd died.)
Okay, so this morning, while getting ready for work, my computer just hard locked up. Moving the mouse wasn't working, num lock and caps lock weren't working, etc. So I shut the computer off and turned it back on.
And the fans start spinning for a moment, things light up inside, then it shuts down, and repeats the process over and over. Not good. I shut it down, then tried starting it up on a break from work a few hours later. Same thing.
So it'll probably be down for a while.
Well, none of the outlets in my apartment get any sort of internet signal.
So now there's a cable coming out of a hole that was drilled through my apartment wall, and internet's coming out of that. Not the most sophisticated of arrangements, but I can live with that...

I'm pretty much just going off of a tethered phone for internet at the moment, since my internet's down.
Hopefully it'll be back up after the weekend. I've got them scheduled to come out then, and while I could be wrong, I'm pretty sure there shouldn't be dangling cut wires on the side of the building...

Remember that time I blogged about winning the Flashfic competition, or that other time I did?
Well, I won it again. There were something like a dozen entries, and I was a bit surprised, too, because this particular story I thought was kinda hit or miss, but I guess it hit this time. Part of it was the Rarity/Sweetie Belle dialog...
Just thought I'd mention that I won the November 2019 Flashfic contest today!
Feels good, though now I have to come up with next months prompt.
You could find the story in the thread, or as the latest chapter ("The Wind") in the tagged anthology.
The part below the line, anyways. The beginning is the usual connecting anthology framework.

I just became admin of another group. This one is called "Amateur Artists Unite!". It's got 383 members, but I'm not sure how many are active.
I'm likely going to be making a bunch of changes. I've mostly started doing a few new sticky threads and cleaning things up.
So, I've mentioned before that there's a monthly Flashfic competition that happens in this group every month, and while I don't always enter, I write something for it reasonably often. These are especially fun, since you are writing based ona prompt, and the story has to be 150 words or less, which is tricky. I'm a few behind on posting them to my anthology, in fact.
As it happens, one of the groups I'm an admin in is a general discussion group that hasn't had a post in a year. I was looking at it and of the admin list, there was only one other admin left, LyraAlluse.
I've decided that it's kinda sad to let a group just sit there with almost 200 people in it and no discussion, though, so I'm renovating it, and promoting discussion. Any discussion.
