It was nothing spectacular, but afterwards, it was pretty clear it was something that I needed to do.

This chapter served really as a final wrap-up, and a way to show the progress that Twilight’s made. Reasonably, you wouldn’t see much progress after only a week, but that wasn’t the point. All else I would say is we shouldn’t think too harshly of Twilight: If your first encounter with a group was them kicking in the door on your brother’s wedding, shooting your mentor in the chest, tying everyone up and holding you for ransom, you’d hold them in pretty low regards, too.

This one took a few tries before I could actually figure out the flow of things, because I wasn’t sure how to get Twilight alone with Lyra; that’s one hazard of starting from the end and working backwards. I knew that I wanted to address a few things, though, one of which was, if Lyra is a changeling, then how do we explain the obvious hypnosis at the wedding? That naturally led into, “How is Lyra related to Chrysalis, if at all?”
