It's the worst storm ever... · 10:26am Jan 8th, 2017

Yeah, it dumped nine inches of snow on my region of the US, but the temperature is up and I doubt any more will fall today.

Now watch as I need a Tauntaun to get to work tomorrow.

There's only one more chapter titled for Heath's Warming before we move on to the Yule Ball and then on to the Sparkle's Christmas party.

As I write this, we are gearing up for "The Worst Winter Storm" of the decade.

I wish I could use hyperbole like weathermen. It'd make my stuff sound 20% cooler.

But in the AM hours , I work at a grocery store, and I must ask you.

How the hell are you going to cook all that raw beef and tv dinners if the power goes out? Not everyone has gas grills and cooking ranges. Hamburger isn't like tea, where all you need is a good size candle to make hot tea.

Revisions · 1:59pm Jan 5th, 2017

I tweaked parts of Homecoming, trying to make it flow smoother and give a more natural rise to Sunset admitting to feelings for Twilight.

I'm going to be tweaking the others stories to make them line up better as well, and tonight I'll sit down and write out a pretty important scene for "Wooing", though not in the way people are expecting.

Thank you for those of you that have pointed out mistakes, or flow issues, or other concerns. I will try to do better in the future.

I like to tweak... · 5:47am Jan 4th, 2017

Fixing a punctuation mistake here, rewriting for clarity there, I tend to return from time to time to stories to fix things.

Sometimes I miss things because of the strange mental sequence that causes us all to fill in the gaps because we know what we meant to say. That's why an outside editor is important.

And we're off! · 3:36am Jan 3rd, 2017

I've started the next chapter fic for my little SunLight Homecoming continuity. There are going to be some timeskips, but I'll try to limit them to a few days at most. We're going to start off with a dinner and maybe end with a wedding or more.

We'll see what those two girls demand of me this time.

Research? What's that? · 1:28am Jan 1st, 2017

Ok, so I went and made like Twilight today before sitting down to outline a new story and looked up the Anon-A-Miss storyline, deleted scenes that would have been nice material (The Cafe scene and the intended Duet in Friendship games will be harvested, oh yes...) and did some poking around the older episodes for call-backs.

So here's my choices:

A divergent introspective one-shot that is more canonical than Homecoming?

Ok, I'm going to step into it now.... · 4:44am Dec 31st, 2016

Sunset Shimmer is not best pony.

*dodges flung items* Let me finish!

She is not best pony because we see her for all of three minutes as a pony. Now if we had her return to Equestria for any length of canonical time, then yes, she would be best pony on my list.

She is currently best character by growth, followed closely now by Starlight Glimmer as of the end of season six.

Sigh...I said I wasn't going to do this....dammit.

*cue retroactive stage fright*

I'm really touched, I didn't expect a bit of speculative fanfiction would have been enjoyed by so many folks.

Speaking of Azure.... · 8:50am Dec 30th, 2016

She makes a small appearance in the New Year's story I just finished. Hopefully, it'll be approved before tomorrow closes out.

I'm usually better writing First Person POV, but I wanted to give a general feel of the festivities, not just one pony's view on it. But I also wanted to give Fluttershy some love. Fluttershy is great as a reader vehicle and will likely be up as the main in a story one day. :yay:

Oh, and about that Unicorn off to the side there... · 3:28am Dec 30th, 2016

That's Azure Foalklore, unicorn bard and adventurer. She was my character in a variant game of Pathfinder about a year or so back.

Pathfinder is pretty much Dungeons and Dragons (Ogres and Oubliettes for the canon) and a friend found a system rule for Equestrian player races. It didn't last much more than three sessions due to player drop in/drop out, but it was fun being a happy-go-lucky wandering minstrel.
