I'll be back, but I am.
I sometimes pretend I have a posting schedule other than "sometime soon."
I'll be back, but I am.
Good morning everyone. Still not dead, and I've been giving a lot of thought to ponies lately, and how they relate to our own experience in life.
Specifically when it comes to talents, interests, and feeling fulfilled in life.
I owe you all an explanation for why I've been so quiet. In short, it's because of work.
In long, we used to have three people who worked in our little office, and two more off-site people who helped run things. Then we went up to four and increased the amount of things we were able to do. Things have kinda been going wrong this last quarter.
Hello everyone! In getting back into the groove of things after a severe cold, I did some editing for my friend Minds Eye for a story for the Everfree Northwest Scribblefest 2016.
Alright, so... It's been a while since I've done a question blog, but this time I'd like to be more directed. The last blog got all sorts of disconnected. I think the topic ended up being too broad and the subject matter too nebulous.
This time: Cliches.
As many of you know who have followed me for a while, I have a, er, problem.
I come up with an idea, plot it out, and run with it for a few chapters. Currently, I have er... sec. Counting.
Priority / Title / Tags-ish / Currently Written
1. Cake Thief (Currently updating - Mys, Com) (20k)
2. Tides of Love (TwiDance, Drama, Teen, SoL) (4k)
A story about Twilight and Cadance, married for eight years following the death of Shining Armor at sea.
I just finished semi-finalizing this bit... and it's not the whole story, or even part of it... but I just loved this interaction, so I thought I'd share far ahead of the story being released.
Cadance and Luna, Equestria Girls. Still a bit rough, yet, but I loved the interaction.
Chapter 5 - Muffins and Mysteries!
In which everyone's favorite Mare of Muffins becomes a viewpoint character. I honestly loved writing Muffins for this. She's bubbly, happy, and a little silly. I had a harder time writing Twilight in this. She's in between her enthusiastic about everything related to learning phase and where we see her in the show, monofocusing on a single task, and it's a little hard to try and find a balance that I feel works for her.
Welcome to the third and final part of my blog series on Negative Space.
You've seen what I think about the definitions and usage of negative space in stories. Now let's look at the opposite side - filling in that space.
Negative space does not and, not in all cases, should not remain empty. Empty literary space can, in the wrong forms, be frustrating to the reader.
