Chapter 29

The smoke cleared the room. The walls where covered in smoke and debris went everywhere and the windows where all shattered. Rainbow, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie, Fluttershy and the guards where laid out. Sunset protected herself and Discord, but wasn't able to protect her friends or the royal sisters in time.

"Are you okay?" asked Sunset worried.

The girls began to move.

"I think so." said Rarity groggy.

"Ah feel like an apple gettin' squeezed into cider." said Applejack.

Pinkie had managed to cover Fluttershy.

"I'm okay." said Pinkie.

"So am I." added Fluttershy.

"You couldn't have protected us?" asked Rainbow annoyed.

"It happened too fast." answered Sunset guilty.

"We understand." said Fluttershy.

"How's Trouble Shoes?" asked Applejack.

They looked and found Trouble Shoes had been blown clear of his caramel trap. He had hit the floor and was out cold, but breathing.

"He could be doing better." answered Sunset flatly.

Sunset noticed another magic bubble. Party Favor had protected himself and Double Diamond.

"Why did you save me?" asked Double Diamond accusingly.

"You would have been hurt." answered Party Favor.

"I know you had an ulterior motive!" cried Double Diamond accusing.

"Is helping each other what friends do?" asked Party favor.

Double Diamond was left unable to speak.

"Twilight!" called Sunset Shimmer.

No reply.

"Are you there?!" asked Sunset worried.

Again, she got no reply.

"Please be okay." whispered Sunset.

The smoke cleared revealing Twilight and Starlight had both used magic bubbles to protect them self from the explosion.

"I didn't think you'd survive that." admitted Starlight.

Starlight dropped her shield.

"I'm no pushover." warned Twilight.

Twilight dropped her shield.

"Look at your friends.." began Starlight.

Starlight pointed to the five ponies.

"They couldn't handle my power.

Starlight pointed pointed to the royal sisters who had been laid out by the explosion.

"They couldn't handle my power." continued Starlight.

Starlight then pointed to Twilight.

"What makes you think you can?!" asked Starlight.

"Are we chopped liver?" asked Discord.

"Because I have a magic more powerful than yours..." began Twilight.

"Please don't say the magic of friendship." groaned Starlight.

"The magic of friendship!" declared Twilight.

Starlight laughed dryly.

"Friends..." said Starlight.

A look of hurt became evident on her face.

"Who needs them?" asked Starlight disgusted.

Starlight turned toward her followers.

"Your job is to hold them back." said Starlight.

The equalized royal sisters, Double Diamond, the equalized Spearhead and equalized guard rallied around her.

"Are you guys okay?" asked Twilight worried.

Twilight saw her friends rally around her.

"We're okay Twilight." said Applejack.

"Ready to kick butt!" declared Rainbow.

"However, nopony is to lay a hoof on Twilight Sparkle." noted Starlight.

A sinister smile came to Starlight.

"She's mine." said Starlight Glimmer coldly.

Pinkie and Rarity faced off with the equalized guards.

"They just keep coming." said Rarity stunned.

Rarity hit them with blasts of magic, but they got back up and coming.

"It's so bad." shrugged Pinkie.

Pinkie was pulling various balls out of her hair and hitting the guards with them.

"I'm getting plenty of practice for dodgeball." added Pinkie.

Pinkie ran behind a pillar and pulled out another ball.

"Thanks goodness I've got ball stashed all over Equestria for ball emergencies." said Pinkie.

Rarity blinked confused and Pinkie belted an equalized guard.

"It's Pinkie Pie, don't question it." said Rarity.

An equalized guard lunged at rarity, but Applejack tackled him before he could reach her.

"Y'all ain't hurt my marefriend!" declared Applejack.

"I think we have more problems." noted Rarity.

Applejack turned around to see a small platoon of equalized guards.

"I've tangled with plenty of critters. No sweat." said Applejack.

"And you've got me by your side." added Rarity.

Before either could make a move, a cyan blur shot by and knocked over the equalized guards like bowling pins.

"This is so much fun!" declared Rainbow Dash.

"This ain't a game!" warned Applejack.

"Yeah. yeah." said Rainbow.

Rainbow dash looked around.

"Where's Fluttershy?" asked Rainbow worried.

"She hiding that corner." answered pinkie.

Pinkie pointed to a corner where Fluttershy had taken refugee.

"Hi." said Fluttershy meekly.

"What in Equestria are you doing?" asked Rainbow.

"Avoiding conflict." answered Fluttershy.

Rainbow Dash took a deep breath trying to stay calm.

"Just watch our backs!" called Rainbow.

"Look out!" exclaimed Fluttershy.

The four turned around to see the equalized Spearhead.

"Oh dear. He is quite the...large fellow." noted Rarity worried.

"Plus he's really big." added Pinkie.

"There's four of us. We can use that to defeat him." said Applejack.

Spearhead let out an angry snort.

"Bring it on!" demanded Rainbow.

Spearhead charged, but Rainbow few overhead.

"Missed me!" called Rainbow Dash.

"Now is hardly the time to show off." said Rarity.

"I think she's trying to distract Spearhead." whispered Fluttershy.

Realizing Fluttershy was correct, rarity quickly fired a volley of magic that knocked Spearhead back.

"And if you try to hurt my friends there is plenty more where that came from!" declared Rarity.

Seemingly unphased, Spearhead charged Rarity.

"Some help would be most nice." said Rarity worried.

Luckily, Pinkie Pie hit Spearhead in the face with a boysenberry pie. Applejack then hopped onto the back of Spearhead who began bucking.

"I'm no stranger when it comes to rodeos! It'll take more than this to get rid of me." noted Applejack.

Seeing a chance, Rainbow Dash charged in and slammed into the side of Spearhead mid buck. This knocked the big guy off balance and caused him to fall as Applejack jumped clear.

"Good team work y'all." said Applejack.

Spearhead began to stir.

"Oh no ya don't." stated Applejack.

Applejack pulled a thick rope out from under her Stetson and hogtied Spearhead.

"At least that's only problem solved." said Applejack.

Meanwhile, Sunset and Discord where holding back the Royal Sisters.

"Please stop!" cried Sunset.

Luna fired another beam at of magic which hit the magical shield Sunset was using to defend herself.

"You have to fight this! Remember who you are!" cried Sunset.

"I am a loyal follower of Comrade Glimmer!" declared Luna.

Luna fired another beam of magic at Sunset whose shield blocked it.

"You might want to try something different." noted Discord.

Celestia fired a volley of magic at Discord who snapped his finger turning it into a scoop of vanilla ice cream which fell to the floor.

"Oh man!" cried Pinkie.

"You try stopping her." noted Sunset.

"I'm trying." replied Discord.

"Really?" asked Sunset, not believing him.

"It's hard to attack someone you care about." noted Discord.

"Can't you just snap your claw and stop Starlight?" asked Sunset.

"The Alicorn Amulet had made so powerful I don't know if I could." answered Discord.

Celestia fired a blast of volley of magic which Discord turned into a balloon that floated away.

"Look out!" cried Discord.

Luna fired another blast of magic at Sunset. Her shield blocked it, but Sunset noticed it was starting to crack.

"Well we need to do something!" cried Sunset.

"Let me try this." offered Discord.

Discord snapped his claw and the Royal Sisters where trapped in maple syrup.

"There." sighed Sunset.

Sunset Shimmer dropped her shield.

"I don't why you couldn't have done that earlier." said Sunset.

The Royal Sisters suddenly let off a magical surge easily breaking free of their syrupy trap.

"Oh come on!" exclaimed Sunset.

"That is why. They're still the Royal Sisters and they are still incredible powerful." explained Discord.

"Princess Celestia! It's Sunset Shimmer!" cried Sunset.

Celestia remained unmoved.

"Please remember me!" exclaimed Sunset.

"I thought we agreed that didn't work." mused Discord.

"I never agreed to that." noted Sunset annoyed.

"Princess..." began Sunset.

Before she could finish, Sunset was forced to dodge a magical blast from the princess.

"I don't want to say I told you so..." began Discord.

"At least I'm trying!" snapped Sunset.

Discord snapped his finger trapping the Royal Sisters in glue.

"No need to get testy now." replied Discord.

This irked Sunset Shimmer to no end.

"At least I give a damn." said Sunset angrily.

"And you don't think I do?!" asked Discord.

The Royal Sisters broke free, but Discord trapped them in a massive gelatin.

"What are you saying?" asked Sunset.

"You know I do care deeply for Celestia and I've bonded a bit with Luna over being reformed villains." answered Discord.

"Then why are you acting so aloof?" asked Sunset.

"Maybe that's how I deal with hurt." answered Discord hurt.

Sunset was taken aback.

"I'm sorry for being rough." said Sunset.

"It's fine." replied Discord.

The Royal Sisters broke free of the gelatin.

"No crying over spilled milk." added Discord.

With a snap, a giant carton of milk appeared and poured all over Celestia and Luna.

"That was kinda funny." admitted Sunset.

The angry royal Sisters stood up.

"Let's save them." said Discord.

Meanwhile, Double Diamond was attempting to enact revenge of Party Favor.

"I can't believe you betrayed us!" cried Double Diamond.

Double Diamond charged Party favor, but to no avail.

"I had too!" cried Party Favor.

"We never should have trusted you!" declared Double Diamond.

Double Diamond pounced at Party Favor who dodged.

"Starlight is manipulating us! Look at all the harms she's done!" cried Party Favor.

"Comrade Glimmer is our glorious, flawless leader!" exclaimed Double Diamond.

An idea hit Party Favor.

"But, you said taking me back was a mistake." noted Party Favor.

"And it was!" spat Double Diamond.

"But, Starlight welcomed me back. So...that means she made that mistake." said Party Favor.

Double Diamond was stunned by this.

"I...she...u..." stammered Double Diamond.

Double Diamond angrily shook his head.

"Stop trying to confuse me!" screamed Double Diamond.

Double Diamond charged, but Party Favor used his magic to trap Double Diamond in a magic bubble.

"Let me out!" ordered Double Diamond.

"I hope someday we can move passed this." said Party Favor solemnly.

Double Diamond looked at Starlight Glimmer with doubt.

"Starlight would lie to us...would she?" asked Double Diamond.

A/N: That's where we'll end things for now. I am back int he swing of things fully and I will finish this story without any more breaks. Next time, the battle continues and a huge development occurs. Please review.
