I hate being right... Especially when being right involves bad things happening. Being a prophet of doom gets old after all these years. It happens with more than just your story; it happens with an eerie amount of events out in the real world too.
and so the war continuse.
Called it. He didn’t confirm that kill. Now it’s come back to haunt him.
So what vehicle does the Starscream resemble? I’m not too big on aircraft.
And this is really late, but looking back on it, does that train they mentioned, the Oroborus or whatever it was called supposed to be a spoof of Snowpiercer?

Well, the Starscream is pretty much the good ol' failed US cold war project that was the XF-84 Thunderscreetch. An entertaining story about a fairly solid idea that turned into a engineering nightmare that ended with a pilot stating very clearly "You aren't big enough and there aren't enough of you to get me in that thing again".
As for the Ouroboros, it's more or less started out as a combination of the US's plans to create a nuclear powered train, coupled with the Soviet RT-23 railway based ICBM launch systems that roved the Union back during the cold war. I mean, what more could you want in a guaranteed retaliatory strike system? Nuclear power means it wouldn't have to stop rolling for years outside of stocking up on supplies. Alas, turns out in real life, running a nuclear powered anything means it comes with an operating price tag equal to the GDP of some countries, not to mention the security nightmare of having to maintain 10,000kms of track or risk a heap of nuclear accidents bundled in one. Needless to say... we never had anything quite like it, and thank the stars for that.

Oh dang. Never knew about that aircraft. I could see it being an issue for the electronics and eardrums of nearby equipment and air crew.
And now that you mention it, I think you spoke of the Cold War era Soviet nuclear powered train before cause it rings a bell. It’s been a while. I could definitely see the logistical issues associated with maintenance of broth train and the kilometers of tracks. I guess that’s why I though it was Snowpiercer being that it never stopped.

That's a pretty good memory you've got! I did talk a bit about the Ouroboros way back in a blog post when it was first introduced in the story. That was all the way back in April of 2018 too. Geeze, how time flies...
