I made custom original miniatures!
Because Ponygrad asked for it! And also because I'm lazy and putting off doing actual productive things.
See, over the last couple of months, I've been painting minis to pass the time. It's relaxing to sit down and do something with your hands, with a podcast or YouTube or some random netflix show in the background. (Sidenote, I'm almost out of Hannibal episodes, which means I'm gonna have to find something new for background noise).
miniature relationship equines.
I forgot to mention-- I've started trying to learn how to paint miniatures. Husband is much better at it than I, and I've included some of his works. These are (basically) the first miniatures I've ever painted. Not using them for any particular game, though I've wanted to paint some Dark Eldar for 40k. (images after the jump)
There's a lot of sub-textual sexual tension in X-Wing miniatures, really.
Hello, FiMfic.
So where has summer gone, huh? I haven't been writing as much as I'd like, though apparently Bicyclette is doing a Sunset/Sci-Twi shipping contest, which I ... might actually look into? As that sort of thing is entirely within my wheelhouse. Maybe not as much as, say, a Rarijack contest or a Flash Sentry contest, but hey.
An Informed Guide to the Reality of Ponies
In My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, most people who have tried to estimate pony heights have chosen apples as the only constant between our world and theirs. They seem to all agree that an apple is about four-inches (10.1 cm) tall, based on nice juicy apples in our world -- and Applejack only grows nice juicy apples, right?
Today I learned about the actual littlest pony.
(Who is, indeed, adorable.)
So... I have plans to create the whole Ponyville town out of glued paper and cardboard.
The project is still in its early stages so I can’t post any images or videos of it yet on youtube or anywhere else, about constructing the whole town together. I also have a close friend who’s also helping me out with the project a bit.
I have a feeling that Ponyville will look amazing when we finish it all.
