Word to the wise: Don't let anyone spoil you on the finale, it was amazing. Even me saying that is kind of spoily. If you think you've heard anything about it, go watch it right now, lest the best come across your plate like it did mine. D:
And season seven comes to a close, with a heck of a bang! :D I hope everyone enjoyed Shadow Play, because I sure as hell did!
Before I get into the reaction and analysis, I wanted to bring up something interesting. I was looking through transcripts recently and came across this gem, from The Crystalling, part 2:
With the Dorgenark being repaired after crash-landing on Juraika, the landing party searches the jungle for the Fire Fruit needed to make Booster Oil so that the ship can get moving again.
I really don't like the explanation for the Tree given in Shadow Play, Part 2. IMO, it reduces the artefact and removes much of the mystery and wonder for it. Instead, I find myself preferring another explanation. One much like this (with apologises to Arthur C Clarke):
Call it the Tree of Harmony.
Bleakbane Plays BATTLETECH, Part Seventeen:
Okay, first, a 2-skull Destroy Base for the Free Worlds League against the planetary government.
Scarlet would take the Decapitator, Velina would take the Fair Marauder, Natasha the Stalker Barrage and Shelat the Catapult Hammer.
Bleakbane Plays BATTLETECH, Part Thirty-Five:
Righty-doke, then, where were we?
That's right - anti-Kurita missions. Starting with a 4-skull mission to capture a newly-activated factory from them for Davion.
It was in polar climes, so the current lance - Zuranna in the Decapitator, Mylassta in the Rocket Shark, Natasha (still in high spirits) in the Bull Shark and Summer in the Annihilator - would do fine.
Having repaired the Dorgenark, the crew continues on their way to Zerard to renew their galactic travel visa. Lilika, having never left her home planet, joins the landing party so she can see the sights.
Bleakbane Plays BATTLETECH, Part Thirty-Eight:
So, considering this got posted on Sunday, you can imagine how well it went on Saturday's session, can't you...?
On day 1102, the paladins arrived at Frazer.
"Frazer?" Lynessa asked a cheerfully humming Poppy. "Weren't we going to Horsham?"
"Um, no ma'am," Poppy replied, smiling softly. "Why would we go there? You wanted to fight Kuriat, didn't you?"
"Yes," Lynessa replied, feeling confused. "Yes, I did..."
Bleakbane Plays BATTLETECH, Part Twenty-Two:
Last night was quite short, but I finished late, so figured I might as well add it to today's, since that would be a bit shorter than usual, since I went out for the afternoon.
Bleakbane Plays BATTLETECH, Part Fourteen:
Off they set to Mendham.
To come to a complete grinding halt. Scarlet had Accidentally the Engines, with a laser pointer. Farah was grimly amused, Darius (as usual) was just No-Fun-Stick-Up-Arse man about it, Pseekie was in a fit of hysterical laughter and Scarlet was quite distraught.
Bleakbane Plays BATTLETECH, Part Twenty-Five:
Will be a short one today; got to knock it off early, because we're out early tomorrow morning for a much-needed tomato-soup-in-the-car day trip.
Okay, so two 2-skull and two 3-skull missions to choose from (all from Davion). Lynessa somewhat arbitrarily elected to start with a 2-skull test drive, the Davions wanting to further test a Cataphract 1x by killing some pirates.
Bleakbane Plays BATTLETECH, Part Twenty-Eight:
Looking at the positions of the enemy indicators, Mylassta had he lance head south, towards the reinforcements, and away from the other nominal contacts.
The first warning the reinforcement lance had that things were about to go south was when the head of the Stalker exploded.
Part 23A: Finale
Had to devide this into two parts (I hope two will be sufficient!) because of the number of images in the last gasp! (Yell if you see any broken image links, but it all appears clear on my end!)
Thursday, Winter Day 18, Year Two
Time is moving on... It won't be long now before Illy has to go to magical paladin school!
Olivia is the one Illy will be giving a secret present to this year... Wine? No, a diamond, everyone likes diamonds.
And we are back.
While away, Derpy and Sunset helped with a little hydrodynamic engineering...
Not bad for a mere hour or so's work.
Anyhoo, without further ado...
Part 21: Miner Incidents
Been a little quiet this week, but this is simply because of various day-trips or otherwise being-out-ness and the short evenings before chewing into my playing time...
Friday, Autumn Day 27, Year Two
Illy finds that her Rare Seeds have sprouted into Sweet Gem berries. After some debate, she elects to sell one silver berry, save the gold one and place the last into the seed maker - which gives her two to plant again.
Part Six
Day Seventy-Eight.
There weren't any pressing tasks (and they were still plenty close enough to get to that nearby loot site soon enough), so Stab started out on planning her throne room.
She elected to have a jade door for this one.
Bleakbane Plays BATTLETECH, Part Thirty-Nine:
Next mission - a 4-skull clash of the titans between a Capellan Assault mech and... Someone else.
It in the badlands, so the lance would be the same as previously - Pseekie in the Overlord, Mylassta in the Annihilator, Alarhan in the Shortbow, Natasha in the Bull Shark.
