Planning a Story · 5:11am Aug 6th, 2015

Evening, all!

IDKNameHere recently asked me about how I plan out a story, and since I thought it was worth talking about to everybody, he was nice enough to allow me to publish my part of our conversation. Let's dig in!

A Small Moment, A Lifelong Adventure - Whinny City 2019 Con Report! · 4:28am Apr 27th, 2019

I always bring a special shirt with me to conventions: the purple shirt with the black cuffs, the shoulder tabs, and the roll-up sleeves. Some might call it a cosplay – it is the shirt that my OC wears, after all – but to me, it's something even more special. It's a way for me to slip into someone that I choose to be, someone who's been a big part of who I am for over a decade, someone who is confident and competent and just wants to spend a weekend making people happy, and somepony who,

Convention Vignettes #3 · 12:49am Sep 10th, 2018

NOTE: In the course of meeting so many people over a weekend, some names inevitably slip one's mind, no matter how hard one tries to remember. In such cases, names are replaced by question marks. If any owners of those names are reading this, by all means send me a reminder.

For a similar reason, these are presented out of chronological order.

Read It Now Reviews #76 – A Million Little Lights, Dragons Speak, The Most Powerful Dragon in Equestria Visits for Tea, A Friendly Letter from Chrysalis, Involuntary · 2:27am Apr 19th, 2016

It has been a while since I did a set of Read It Now reviews. I actually started this one all the way back in March, and then forgot about finishing it out until this weekend, when I decided to get another review set done and actually read some recent stuff.

Today’s set contains a pair of episode reaction stories, a story with an interesting premise about Celestia and her ability to see the future, a story about Chrysalis sending Cadance a letter, and a story about… well, wingboners.

Recommended Story Reviews #15 – Wet Feathers, Martial Bliss, For When It Rains, I Am Trying to Break Your Heart, Where You Can’t Follow · 1:06pm Jan 26th, 2017

While I haven’t posted a Recommended Story Review set every month, I have been trying to do so, and this set brings me up to #15. This is starting to have an interesting consequence, though. Because these sets are composed entirely of stories that I enjoyed enough to recommend before I started doing reviews, the number of stories I can include in these sets shrinks every blog post.

Read It Later Reviews #66 – On Forensic Accounting & Choral Singing, Friendship is Physics, Sunny Skies All Day Long, Hyperportentia, Not In Bluff Nor Bravado Nor Loneliness · 1:27pm Jan 31st, 2017

The funny thing about procrastination is that sometimes it ends up wrapping back around into productivity.

It’d be nice if I could be productive in the directions that I aimed, but at least I’m getting something done.

Today includes a few stories from the RCL, as well as a couple stories that I previously read that didn’t quite merit a recommendation, along with a final story – one that I’ve put off reading since the Outside Insight contest all the way back in 2014.
