Got in late last night, jetlagged but I think ready to return. Las Vegas is fun, but a bit surreal.

I made one last effort at playing yesterday before it was time to return the rental car and get to the airport. After winning $50 on a craps table, I went to the Venetian and sat down with $200 at a $2/$5 no-limit cash game. This was my final play, and win or lose would ensure that I would leave with at least $1500.

Arrival in Las Vegas was something of a comedy of very odd errors for me. Woke up at 5am for a 7am flight, took care of some last minute chores, then caught a taxi to the airport. Interesting times, walking around a convention where many of the fans walk around with plushies. I was surprised to find that there were plenty of people, both male and female, in the over 40 crowd that were indeed fans, not just towing tots. Sure, the mane population fit the usual demographic of 15-25, but at least 25% were more mature.

Well, yesterday was the opposite of the first day, though not entirely in a bad way. I bombed in my one tournament entry, the $235 daily deepstack at the WSOP at the Rio. Out in an hour. It was one of those deals where you can literally do no right and all of your hands will inevitably be second-best.
