Christmas is almost upon us! Though the holidays are a time that should be celebrated by all, of course. Personally, not being the most social ghost, the family gatherings and togetherness can be a bit much, and are something I prefer in limited quantities. But I do fully believe in taking time off from regular things and doing low-stress relaxation things not on a schedule. Which, after the 23rd, will be through to 2024. As it should be!
As of now doing away with the ratings, that was a stupid idea in the first place. Anyway, here goes.
I know I've previously recommended Netflix's animated series Hilda, both here and in other people's cartoon review blogs, but I really, really need to do it again. The third and last season has just dropped, and my wife and I just finished marathoning all three seasons and the S2 movie.
Working out a timeline for the TV show is difficult.
And then I read the comics.

As of yesterday, I've been on this site for twelve years. 134 fics (113 completed). 1,541,485 words (1,108,028 completed). Averaging 11,503 words, 83 remainder (9,805 completed, 63 remainder).
Any artist who isn't disappointed by their past isn't progressing.

Go, Retro! Looking through my blogs for unfinished business, I see I left the reviews of Netflix animated movies unfinished. Not gonna do a bunch of reviews all at once, so today's solo feature will be The Sea Beast (2022).

So I'm super-tired right now, having literally raced to the deadline to get this sucker done. But I did it!

As we pass the halfway mark of the month, I have great news to report:
I've met my target.
60,000+ words.
And. Still. Going.

One week in, and the challenge is going pretty well. I had a really great day yesterday and wrote 5,471 words, so it's safe to say I'm staying on target.

…Well, thanks to the first botch I’ve had from Ryanair in donkey’s years (despite their reputation, they are very reliable for short European flights), one that forced a different plane to be used three hours and twenty-five minutes later, I arrived home just late enough from UK PonyCon to miss Monday Musings going up on Monday. 
Least by British time – it’s still on time for the Americans in the crowd! 
Yet again I find myself with nothing important or particularly interesting going on. Which I suppose is a good thing: nothing means no bad things, yes? So for this week I figure I’ll talk about my ongoing writing progress.
