"You've burnt all the food, the shade...the rum!"
"Yes. The rum is gone!"
"Why is the rum gone?!?"
Hmmmm.....probably just a small teaser poster/banner. Nothing major.
Less than 936 days away guys! Time to get HYPED
I saw it in theatres with my best friend and his mom, so I've done my part in supporting the movie. I really hope it does well.
I had a lot of fun with this movie, more than I thought I would. Capper basically stole the show, he's my new favorite side character. What a beast.
Hidden Figures is a powerful story, and a surprising one. I and the people I watched it with kept asking, "Why haven't I heard about this before?"
But I remembered that Fargo began with the solemn text-over statement that
This is a true story. The events depicted in this film took place in Minnesota in 1987. At the request of the survivors, the names have been changed. Out of respect for the dead, the rest has been told exactly as it occurred.
Just got back from seeing the movie. It was... okay. More rambling thoughts here.
Main takeaway:
Decent movie. It would probably be more fun going through the big VR scenes shot by shot picking out all the references then actually watching the movie.
*singing* what can I say except we're dead soon, we're dead soon...
Well, it's been a while since I've done...well...anything on this site. Pony-fatigue is still running strong and my mind is catching up from several years of immersing myself in almost nothing but MLP (from a personal entertainment perspective). But now I'm back, fresh from the theater with a review of Shin Godzilla.
...
I'm sure I'll get back to pony eventually...
Warning! Spoilers Ahead!
First off, go see the movie; it's pretty swell. Anyway, I never was really sure what a cinematographer did for animation, now I know better. I think I'll have a greater appreciation for the design of the movie when I go to watch it a second time. A short excerpt:
What sort of materials were used as references for the film? Was there any reference material specific to cameras, staging and lighting?
Many better educated, analytical, and articulate people have commented on the movie itself. I cannot and will not attempt to compete with their work nor be spoilery in any way. Instead, my blabbery is, mostly, about my movie watching experience.
5.) Avengers: Infinity War
4.) Black Panther
3.) Red Sparrow
2.) The Incredibles 2
1.) Deadpool 2
Alright twinkle toes. I wanna know where my money is and I wanna know right now!
Okay. *pulls out accounting machine* you got 17.5% in T-Bills amortized over the fiscal year, 8% in stocks and bonds, carry the nine divided by the gross national product. Fortunately, funeral boquets are deductable.
ICE THIS DEADBEAT!!
"I can't help it Scowl, I still feel sorry for the poor wicked queen."
"SORRY?!? You're a bat! You're supposed to be BAAAD!!!"
"Baad?"
"Yeah! Mean, ruthless, cruel! Rotten to the core! *cough* like me! *coughs*"
"Nobody's perfect."
"WHOOOOOOOO!!! *coughs uncontrollably*"
A few days ago, Daniel Ingram tweeted that something MLP music-related that he was very proud of would be released today. And it turns out it was the entire score for the MLP Movie, available on iTunes or this YouTube playlist!
ok here's a rapid fire list form review of the mlp movie
animation: 10/10!
story: 7.5/10 simple and a bit quick in pace, but still holds up.
voices: 8/10
music: 8.5/10, I loved open up your eyes
characters: 7/10 mane six are well done, twilight may seem rash, but I would two if my home and fellow alicorns were in the state they were in the movie, new charecters are great, love tempest, but I feel captian Celeano and her crew didn't get enough devopment, still fun though.
Good news, everyone!
