Much as I didn’t want to, I made the decision to break it up since the full length of the War Council meeting had exceeded 20,000 words and will probably approach 25k for the now-two chapters before all is said and done. The breakpoint itself will be between learning about the general war situation both Aricia and the Griffon Kingdom face, and then discussing what in all the Crows they’re going to do about it.

Let’s start with some good news. AJ_Aficionado is now a week-plus removed from his procedure, which basically kinks his lower esophagus like a spiral sink trap right above the stomach to prevent acid backwash. He reports he has some minor reflux after surgery, which is said to be normal and should disappear with time along with the post-operative pain. He went home at least briefly, but is staying with family for at least as long as he needs to remain on a liquid diet.
Why a quintuple here ? Because I wanted to take care of all the revelations at once and they are a tons. Too much actually and so much so that it makes the story go from grounded to a ridiculous mess of conspiracy upon conspiracy upon conspiracy and coincidences upon coindences that just tries its hardest to work but honestly, the convoluted aspect of it all, despite being prepared for a while, feels forced and honestly makes the story become insanely silly. There is a poll I posted on an earlier blog against Feathered Hearts: Continuation and Chronicles asking what I should work on next. Prereads thus far have been very favorable, and judging by the sheer number of google doc comments from my reviewers, it should spark a lot of thought and (hopefully) good commentary among readers as well.
When I started getting sick on Monday and one of those home COVID rapid antigen tests came back positive. But the symptoms didn’t match, as even though I was shortly running a temperature, I had no trouble breathing, my coughing was productive, and I kept my sense of smell. In the form of not baseball games, but back-to-back releases of both Feathered Hearts: Continuation and Chronicles and the second full chapter of Harmonic Resonance. Yep, you heard right—you'll get both a warfic and a clopfic on Wednesday night. I think that pretty much covers all the bases!
Chapters 10-13 R-rated/M-rated updates to Continuation and Chronicles are targeted for release on Sunday morning, with the remainder following at the rate of one additional M-rated entry plus any changed preceding chapters (which will typically be R-rated) every two days. As things stand, chapters 10-12 will be R-rated and 13 will be M-rated, though I’ve been tempted to go further with 12 as well.
So, I decided to read Project Horizons after beginning to get frustrated to discuss with people about the supposed value of a work that I didn't know anything about and needed to rely on hearsay to try to make a discussion happen. A warm welcome to any and all new Feathered Hearts readers, folks, whether you read Eros or just Continuation and Chronicles. I hate calling those two latest Eros chapters an ordeal, but they were at times simply for much I was trying to do and how much I wanted to include, both in terms of sex and worldbuilding. It took over a month to write what ended up being all 25,000 words, though it seems to have turned out well in the end.
I promised that once the Griffon Kingdom arc of Midnight Rising was finished, I would try to do a single chapter of Continuation and Chronicles before working on Nightmare Night. So here we go. Thankfully, I already have about 7000 words to work with that I removed from the ending of the previous chapter. So hopefully, it won’t take too long. I guess it depends on how easily I’m able to ease back into it after five months since the last chapter.
With Into the Storm chapter 3-10 in the book (3rd book of magnum opus, 10th chapter), I would like to first welcome new readers and thank returning ones for feedback. The chapter was received very well, and the graphics I made turned out to be very much appreciated and worth it to make. I'll post one of them here in hopes of enticing more folks to read Firefly.
