Believe it or not, I actually got some chores done today.

And that's saying something, because if Diablo IV was this good at any point last year, it would have definitely been near the top of my Best Games of 2023. You know, instead of being omitted entirely.

So let's just say that Armored Core VI absolutely just got smacked out of the running for Best Yesteryear Game.

    Updates and Such

Well, as a thunderstorm rolls overhead (and hopefully doesn't knock power out), I thought I'd offer some updates on what I've been up to.

Long story short, I'm pretty much in gaming overload at the moment.

Thank you, Twitter. I have a headache from laughing now. · 3:30am Oct 16th, 2022

Thanks to my Twitter circle, I have become aware of the rhythm game Trombone Champ, which launched today.

As someone who played trombone in middle/high school, this game offends me on a very deep, personal level.

I also haven't laughed this hard at a game in years.

Can't wait for my roommate to scream at me for playing this game without a headset.

And as someone whose only experience learning a musical instrument is being able to play a mean recorder in grade school (it's a garbage instrument, but if it teaches you only two things, it is musical timing and learning to properly cover the damn holes when you're playing a wind instrument), I am morbidly yet genuinely curious.

Unless you are razor sharp and crazy accurate with your mouse, this game is like combining a trombone with a recorder.

It's gut-busting and only makes your ears bleed a little.

I played the Baritone (horn) in school. Joined the jazz band as well as the conventional one. as I was the only member playing that instrument I often got lumped in with the trombones because we basically have the same range and similar sound.
I had to learn to play the parts written for 2nd or 1st trombone on a 3 valve horn... slides and all... I respect the Trombone. and thus I share both your feeling about this game.

This game is a blast! Tho Iade the mistake of first trying to play it on the Steam Deck. Controlling the slide with your thumb on the tiny touch pad is dang near impossible. Tho it did make everything hilariously even worse.
