Next C&C chapter well underway... · 9:28pm Oct 10th, 2022
While I’m waiting to launch the latest chapter of Unleash the Magic - Midnight Rising tonight, I worked on the next chapter of Feathered Hearts - Continuation and Chronicles heavily yesterday and especially today. It’s already up over 6,000 words, and among other things, I’m trying to work in parts of the original story’s chapter 9, as I haven’t included anything from the source material in a while. You’ll get to see the Marines, griffies, drakinas and Ibex in action as they work to break the initial assault waves, and I’ll do my best to make it memorable.
However, I will say right now that this is one chapter that might be best described as straight out of Starship Troopers, and not just for its as yet-unseen telepathic bug bosses. It would seem that working on my M-rated Midnight Rising fic has left its mark on me, as I found myself working feverishly today on not the combat part of the new C&C chapter, but a surprise and very R-rated sequence at the end that’s probably verging on M-rated. To make a long story short, Gilda can put off her need for relief no longer, and a lull in action after a repulsed attack will provide the perfect opportunity to do so with an equally surprising partner.
Starship Troopers remains one of my favorite movies for not just an interesting storyline and characters, but for being gleefully and gratuitously R-rated, showing blood and boobs, sex and wartime savagery in (almost) equal measure. That’s what makes it such a watchable movie for me. So this is a Starship Troopers chapter as you’ll get intense combat followed by an equally intense sex scene sparked in part by two characters simply surviving—or more precisely, the bookends to that scene to keep it within the realm of being R-rated.
Those who don’t want to see it can simply skip over the ending, and it will be expanded to full M-rated glory in Eros later. In the meantime, the main story will get its own Starship Troopers-like taste of Eros while we’re waiting for a new chapter to come out. And readers of Eros are reminded again that the new chapter of Midnight Rising I’m releasing tonight will be almost entirely about the griffies and even crazier than the action of Eros. It also stars a certain birdie boi who’s a bit younger than in Feathered Hearts but whose personalities and proclivities are almost completely unchanged.
