Uh, not thrilled at the idea of a jump to G5, in part because it’s actual link to G4 is suspect, but also because if it IS a true sequel then it means that everything that Twilight and her friends did to create a new golden age of friendship and harmony failed.

Also, you said that Celestia wouldn’t retire in your ‘verse, which would mean that it couldn’t be part of G5 anyway.

The timeframe to G5 is indeterminate. Let’s say Twilight had a thousand year reign of peace, prosperity and friendship and whatever succeeded her continued the golden age for another thousand years. In this example only after 2 thousand years of things being pretty great did the decline that led to the tribes separating set in. How is that a failure? Requiring Twilight to establish an Eternal Utopia to be “successful,” is a ludicrous standard.
