Alright, so there is a bit of a reason I've been reluctant to do Ragnarok info dump like promise. I've kinda forgotten half of the stuff I had planned for it. I've been so focused on preparing for the rewrite of The Assassination of Twilight Sparkle that I actually don't remember all of the old stuff I was going to do for the Ragnarok, especially in the order I had planned for it since it was half unfinished by the the time I started on the Path series anyway. I'll do what I can to put down what I remember, and hope over time I'll remember more of it, but I'll get the important stuff out of the way first.

-First, what was the overall plot going to be? Well, the reason why its called Ragnarok is because this is an end of the world scenario. The overall villian was not just Majesty, but also Nitharus (Aka Centarus after he became part of the void) who sought to bring an end to everything. The world, the afterlife, all was to be turned into the void as there are two wars being fought. One is the mortal war that Majesty is waging against the world and the one that Nitharus is causing in the afterlife which is ruining all the afterlives of the races as the gods fight him, but are too divided to do work properly with each other.
-Second, their were six main characters and they were going to be the new Elements of Harmony: Spike (Element of Magic), Mystic Sparkle (Element of Honesty), Shale Pie (Aka Marble Pie and Blueblood's son who becomes the Element of Loyalty), Joyful Colors (Sir Morning Blade and Sasha's daughter who becomes the Element of Laughter), Scáth (The son of Sombra from a concubine and the Element of Kindness), and Flurry Heart (Element of Generosity).
-Mystic Sparkle has spent her years ever since running away learning how to be a better magic user and acting sort of a mage for hire to make a name for herself. She doesn't call herself Mystic Sparkle anymore to hide her identity and instead went by Mirage in an effort to competently distance herself from Twilight Sparkle who she hates for ruining her life despite dying before she was born. She doesn't want to get involved in the war, but has no choice as time goes on and learns to accept who she is, who she is related too, and makes up with her parents over time while learning to be honest about herself.
-Shale Pie is a soft hearted country boy who loves his family and does his best to help around. He's super strong and has handsome good looks due to his father's genes. He meets Mystic and, after an event, runs with her and travels with her. He does learn who he's related too eventually and is disgusted with himself and leaves the group feeling he shouldn't be with them, but gets convinced to go back and states he's not his father, he's himself. Him and Mystic also eventually fall in love together, even after she learns his father helped assassinate her sister.
-Joyful Colors was raised in Equestria and lived a happy and good life, but always was in fear of Unicornia and the loss of her original parents. When Unicornia finally invades Equestria, she constantly runs until she realizes that she cannot run anymore and takes up learning the blade like her father did in his memory. She turns out to be very good at it, but she doesn't kill with her blade, kinda becoming like Rurouni Kenshin. She also eventually helps the Flutterponies escape and exposes Unicornia's treatment of them which encourages others to fight Unicornia.
-Scáth is Sombra's son from a concubine he had when he was still ruler. He was born after the Crystal Empire returned (remember time pretty much stopped for them when they disappeared) and his mother was the only one who treated him with kindness as most of the rest of the city hates him because of his father so he had it rough growing up. His first friend was Flurry Heart who didn't seem him as a monster, and they became best friends. After Scáth's mother died, they grew closer and started falling in love, but Flurry Heart's parents didn't want them to be together because of who his father was and its revealed he has some of his powers when he gets over emotional. Fearing losing him, Flurry Heart and Scáth run away together so they can be together.
-I don't remember how they all met up as time goes on, but they do form a group and try to help Equestria deal with Unicornia especially after the Traditionalists help betray Equestria (though Majesty betrays them as well) and they are sent to the Deer by the Deer Sage from Erebus to find the means to becoming the Elements of Harmony. Through the power of the Deer, they are able to face their fears and conflicts in a vision. Spike faces himself, Mystic faces Twilight, Shale his father, Joyful faces Majesty, Scáth deals with Sombra, and Flurry her parents. When it's over, they gain their Elements.
-Some characters also die during the invasion: Rarity is assassinated during a political party she is holding (and meeting and talking to Spike who she easily recognizes), Rainbow Dash dies defending Canterlot from falling, and a few secondary characters are killed in the invasion but I can't remember who. Also, Discord gets captured by Tirek, but not killed. Yes, he did marry Fluttershy, but they have no children.
-The invasion has four armies: Unicornia lead by Majesty, the Traditionalists who wanted to restore Equestria in their vision, Tirek of the Centaurs, and "Queen Cicada" who proclaims herself to be the heir of Queen Chrysalis seeking to return the hive to its old ways (she's not, she's just delusional). And they succeeded in taking over half of Equestria, including Canterlot, and capture Princess Celestia after taking her magic, which causes Luna to return and lead the rest of the remaining resistance against them.

The elements can't be used by them because Twilight is dead. And yes, Trixie was one of them.
Wow, a lot would have happened here. The deaths definitely would have been depressing. Hard to believe this all started because of one assassination. I just hope it would have had a happy ending after everything.
In the meantime, I hope your rewrite goes well.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but will the rewrite be different from the listed original plan? If so, will you start from the ground up or pick up from a certain point in the series?

Pick up from the start. We're starting fresh by having it take place after the series instead of season 3. It's going to be very different.

Celestia better go down swinging the sol hammer. I am sick and tired of her getting flattened so quickly in the show. Makes you wonder how Equestria survived the 1000 years post-Luna banishment. At least not all of Equestria fell and Luna came back to help the unoccupied areas resist.

Even the summary of what would have happened is wonderfully engaging. :) I particularly liked learning what would have happened with Flurry Heart, as she was one of the characters I was most curious about, but it’s interesting to learn of all of the new Elements, and I feel they all fit your choices.
The deaths were sad to learn about, but they fit the 'verse's overall tone, and I have no doubt they would have been handled with due respect when the time arrived.
I look forward to learning more of what would have happened, and whenever it comes, I also look forward to the remade Assassinationverse, and wish you the best of lucks with it!
Dang. I imagine you would have Rarity die in Spike’s arms.
Even if they forgave Luna for failing to warn of the assassination, Spike didn't last they met, why would they put her in/trust her with a leadership position given her mistakes on that matter? Did she do something to redeem herself?
I believed you mentioned Luna's poor actions as one of the reasons for the reboot. Was her banishment as consequence planned before the complaints, after them, or after you decided to just reboot everything?

If Celestia is defeated, I find it odd so many fics expect Luna to fair better despite her having 1000 years less experience in such matters and no better track record (she slept through the changeling invasion while Celestia at least tried to fight). I give this fic and others a pass as being written before Luna was worfed as frequently as Celestia and Luna got enough screentime to show her deficiencies in leadership.

Since Twilight is dead, Cadance is cut off, and Celestia was captured, Luna was the oldest with experience to lead and they had no choice but to rely on her since she was the only alicorn they could count on. It was more like a lack of options and desperation that led them to accept her again.

I'd accept that if she got some moments to show she learned from her mistakes and become competent in such during her exile. Otherwise I'd think her smartest move would be to use her powers as a solider leaving the strategy/politics to whoever's left in Equestria's chain of command.
