Story review #16: Reflect A Broken Gem —By Mockingbirb
Character’s:
Sunset Shimmer: I love seeing the soft redeeming side of Sunset and for the most part that is how she is in this fic. She is really in canon for the most part and I love her chemistry with the other characters!
Adagio Dazzle: I enjoy how well written and human (don’t tell her i said human) Adagio is in this story.
Although we see less of EG/canon Adagio the version Mockingbirb made is really well done and is written in a way that it could be canon Adagio later on.
Princess Twilight: Eh! Not much to say about her she seems to be like herself from the show.
(Human) Main 6: They are well characterized despite having a smaller role in the story overall they do seem pretty much how you’d expect.
(Pony) Main 6: much like the human main 6 they seem pretty accurate to how they should be in canon.
Premise: Sunset gets a new coworker at her sushi restaurant job and that coworker is a certain sultry siren. But rather then being her usual self Adagio is more withdrawn so Sunset wants to approach her. (Romance ensues)
Grammar and Punctuation: This story is all good as far as my eyes could tell. (It’s possible their are errors I missed but it seems alright)
Dialogue: Not bad but not groundbreaking either.
Flaws: it needs more chapters…..
…..I’m kidding the biggest flaw I had was that I wish we could have seen more of the other characters besides Adagio & Sunset but I do understand this was for an Adagio x Sunset competition.
Strengths: It did a great job at making the story and the relationship feel natural and well rounded.
Ending: (this is exclusively for this story review) I’m suffering from Emotional damage right now. That ending is the most bittersweet thing I’ve read in along while. And how dare you make me feel feeling’s Mr. author.
But as always those are just my 2 cents and I recommend you check out the story yourself and form you’re own opinion. It’s a really good One-Shot and I recommend you check it out.
