Correcting the Critics #2: "Save MLP"

It's been a while since I did my last part in the series. But recently, I saw something that encouraged this installment. A tweet pointing out what someone said 10 months prior. On November 25th 2022, Fluttercheer made a blog post on this site about Save MLP and sent a message about how supporters of that

ChatGPT came up with AU fanfic ideas

I'd say that the title of this blog post says it all, but I'd be lying. I'm not the type who would rely on ChatGPT. But I would certainly consider it once in a while and would most definitely recommend it, especially if you have writer's block.

Some of these ideas I may use sometime. Or anyone reading this blog can use them for their own inspiration.

Correcting the Critics #1: "Why Couldn't MLP been more epic?"

I've chosen to begin a new blog series where I look at the claims of trolls, haters, and ignorant people and pick apart their claims. I can't promise how regular or frequent this series will be. But I wanted to make a proper series with a straight-to-the-point name. In this series, I will also avoid actually posting any links or saying names. I don't want to give the people or groups any

I Recreated Mykan's Poll · 10:03am Dec 21st, 2021

Over a year ago, Mykan posted a poll asking if abusing fictional characters because you hate them is the same as being a bully in real life (I'm paraphrasing, but I'm sure Mykan won't take that into consideration).

And from a whopping 26 votes spread through Twitter (8), YouTube (12), and on this site (6) (and that's assuming there weren't any repeat votes), here are the final results. His original poll ignored anything other than "Yes" or "No". So no "It Depends" votes were allowed. But I calculated them in anyway.

Yes: 2 (7.7%)
No: 21 (80.8%)
It Depends: 3 (11.5%)

Also, Mykan lied about the results of the YouTube version of the poll (which wasn't actually a poll, but just him asking them to answer in the comments). The results were not 100% no as he claimed.

Yes: 0 (0.0%)
No: 11 (91.7%)
It Depends: 1 (8.3%)

So I chose to remake his poll but included "It Depends" as an option.

Or use the QR-Code

I recreated this poll for 3 reasons. The first is to have a single poll so that the same person can't vote multiple times. The second is to include the 3rd option of "It depends, context matters" (which I'm sure will get under Mykan's skin), and the third reason is to remove bias from the equation since I'm sure that most of the people who voted on his Twitter and YouTube only knew about the polls because they follow him, and only follow him because they agree with him. I suppose I could have reasons 4 and 5 be that I want a larger sample size than 26, and I generally want to update the results. This poll has no deadline, so it can constantly be updated regardless of how much time has passed.

I mentioned wanting to remove bias from the equation. But I'm sure Mykan will say something along the lines of "You're being a hypocrite because your followers would be biased against me." And since I know you're stalking me and will see this blog, I offer you to copy/paste the link to the poll I created into your own blog and point your goon squad towards it so that they can vote as well. It anything, it will just help provide for a larger sample size. And it ensures that you can't accuse me of being biased.

In fact, I encourage anyone who wishes to to spread the link to the poll around. The larger the sample size, the better.

I also didn't count Mykan's own vote in the equation of the original poll, since his answer is obvious. But since I can't really stop him from voting on this, I'm also adding my own vote.

Your Changeling Lord King Cocoon has spoken.

I still don't get why context should matter, since they are still cartoons and therefore DO NOT have the same civil rights as a real human being. (Which is why I did not include such things)

Dully noted, no one seems to care.

Btw, bravo for having the balls to get Castor and Leilani killed killed by Goldwin in Starfleet Season 11.

Context matters because why you do it can be telling. Considering that you admit that you do it as a form of therapy, you don't that is both a good thing and disturbing. It's disturbing because if you didn't have fanfics as an outlet to vent your frustrations, what kind of person would you be with those frustrations built up?

Also, 68.75% of people (so far) agree that context does matter.

There is no Season 11 yet...

If you're reffring to THE FINCH STOPPED HEARTH'S WARMING, that's a Movie. It takes place before season 2 (Goldwin and the kids haven't been born yet)

don't care, see ya never oh great BurgerKing

If you don't care, and you don\t even want answers. Then why blog about it? No you're just trying to cause trouble, like a real bully.

Well I tried... but in the end, all you did is prove. I am not the real bully. Which is why you were blocked.

nah see, I care about your opinion pieces. At least in case someone can make a point by adding their own two cents to it.

You just reacting to what I wrote and give the lamest of excuses does not really work out much. In fact, it just results in more exposure for me, so, thank you I guess.

Also, do yourself a favor: If you want to lecture me on this world, try to go for some original speech. Not something of a 50+ year old cop show my grandfather liked to watch and which hasn't aged so well as a piece of conservative entertainment as you might think. Especially when you leave in a big part about how we have it so good without any deadly diseases, despite it being 2021 and some famous people you enjoyed having already biten the dust because of Covid.

No. (And to me, Dragnet is far more insightful than MLP or Disney is)

And the lecture was to show you that you can't keep comparing me to Hitler just because I do things in fanfiction, you also can't keep acting like your way is the only way either. It's just ONE way, just like mine is only ONE WAY.

It's what you prefer that matters

5619606
oh sure, Dragnet is more insightful than MLP. Heck, there are Disney movies more insightful than MLP.

You still don't make much of a point, because you can't even formulate your own very basic opinion and statements on anything in this world, like a freaking grown up.
