Need some input; how would YOU like it? · 1:52pm Dec 7th, 2021
Hey there peoples of the world and thereafter, it's me! What a surprise seeing me after clicking on this blog I published, right?
Okay, so it's been a while, yeah? Just about a month, a holiday, and a whole lot of miscellaneous, worldly change. And through all the time, I still haven't put up that next chapter.
Well, that's because it's not done yet, obviously. It's coming along, for sure; with about 20k words into it through many thousands of words changed and/or tossed out. I certainly haven't been sitting on my butt this whole time, so don't worry about actual progress.
Oh, but you poor readers. I've left you on such a horrible cliffhanger for so long; anybody that still cares must be positively brimming with impatience!
Well fear no longer! I am here to offer a big honkin' choice to the minority who read blogs! How would you like it if I cut up some of what i've got already, and have a chapter put out today!? or so
Okay, to be transparent: I really think it'd be better if I cut the chapter up a bit. For one, and most prevalent for the current moment: it would mean a little somethin' somethin' for you people to read sooner rather than later. I've been feeling badly about leaving everybody hanging for the umpteenth time, so getting some words in you guys' hands would certainly ease my conscience.
It would also really just help me with writing the chapter. The longer a chapter goes on, the longer a scene goes on: the more cohesion it tends to lose. for me, at least The more and more words there are, the less and less comfortable I am with every new phrase. 'How many times have I used that? Am I saying 'eyes' too much?' It's a vicious cycle.
If I were to put, say, 6k words out now, it would really help me focus. Having details set into the stone of a published chapter would take a lot of the load off of my mind, so I don't have to constantly wonder about going back and changing little things in what I've got so far.
It'd also probably end up being a better experience overall. Rather than reading a chapter that'll probably end up being thirty to forty thousand words long sometime probably next month, I spread It out to an indeterminate number of chapters over an indeterminate amount of time. Maybe some of the tension would be lost, but it wouldn't be much better all together like that.
So, really: I'm thinking about doing this either way. I'm kinda just making this blog to appease my various complexes, since external validation never fails to make me happy.
Let me know what you think, I guess? Nice to see you all again?
A massive 20k chapter is pretty hard to digest as a reader at times. Cutting it up would work well I think

Congratulations! You've fulfilled my entire quota for external validation!
I'm off to procrastinate on splitting up that chapter, now!
This ain’t Fallout: Equestria, cutting it up is probably a good idea.

Oh, but isn't the ultimate goal of writing to emulate Fallout Equestria?
Maybe I've been doing it wrong this whole time..

Well now I'm curious how we're going to get from Nightmare Moon and Necromancers to Balefire bombs.
