Hmm, I guess a cluster of different ideas each. Like for example, Pegasus was inspired by Saint Seiya, of course, Space Jam, well... by Space Jam. Yeah, I suppose most of the names inspire the Stands.

For a Stand in general, the design is kind of nice for Jojo's weird design stuff and the ability is kind of nice too.
Though as a Stand for Spike, I feel like Space Jam doesn't really suit him. Especially the stats.
Like wouldn't he got a dragon due to him being a dragon(Equestrian)?

Ah, ok two things then: By stats not suiting him, did you mean you wanted the stats to be much higher?
And as for why it's not a dragon, if I go by that logic, then everyone should have pony Stands.

For the first thing, yeah. Felt like he could be stronger. Afterall, Spike had big potential(that was sadly not utilized enough by the show and got screwed in EQG by them reducing him to a dog)
Second thing, Spike is the only dragon character there(especially in Equestria Girls. Even in general, there's few actual named dragon characters in MLP compared to the ponies). Like among the ponies, there's only ONE dragon(and afterall, Sunset's Stand is a pony too. Couldn't hurt to have one Stand be a dragon due to the character, or at least their Equestrian counterpart, being a dragon).

Ok, so since Spike isn’t a main character in this (nor was he planned to have a huge impact on the story), and because he was planned to have a support Stand for Twilight, it’s not a combative Stand, and not one to be used alone exactly, so his stats aren’t super high. But I have taken this into account, so the next time I write a story with Spike, I’ll make him the most powerful character in the story just for you.
As for the looks, I primarily had the idea to craft the look of the Stands based on the name, and unfortunately, I don’t get an image of a dragon from the name Space Jam. What I did get was the Monstars.
