Superfluous Bios of barely present side characters because someone said they'd be interested · 1:46am Sep 27th, 2021
While working on They Fight Crime, for reasons unbeknownst to mortals, I ended up coming up with full 'bios' (read: the blurbs printed on the back of the the action figure packaging, except slightly longer) for The Elements of Harmony, which, as you may remember, basically never appear in the story itself, just Pinkie showing up to do Pinkie things. Anyway someone said they'd like to see those bios so I thought I'd stuff them in a blog post here you go you're welcome I guess
Alicorn (Twilight)
After accidentally stumbling upon a way to artificially synthesize alicorn, the magical material that formed the horn of the long extinct unicorn, teenage prodigy Twilight Sparkle was inducted into the Order of the Unicorn, a secret magical society dedicated to preserving and improving the mystic arts. Her analytical mind made her a natural socercess, and after training under Celesia, the Order’s leader, Twilight went on to become Alicorn, magical superheroine. Using her Synthetic Alicorn staff to channel her powerful magic, she has a spell for every situation.
Rainboom (Rainbow Dash)
Rainbow Dash was a champion sprinter, before a tragic accident took her out of the game. However, thanks her her stubborn determination and willpower, she drew the attention of the Rainbow Force, a semi sapient energy field that permeates the universe. Endowed with the speed of light itself, Rainbow Dash became Rainboom, the Spectrum Speedster, who catches criminals in a rainbow flash.
Radiance (Rarity)
An ameteur seamstress with an eye for gemstones, Rarity found more than she bargained for when she discovered a mysterious enchanted ring. It’s ancient magic allowed her to create magical constructs of whatever she could imagine, as long as she could keep her focus. Donning a fabulous costume of her own creation, the dazzling Radiance battles the villains of the world in style.
Ultragold (Applejack)
Long ago, in a far away galaxy, an advanced planet was wracked by civil war. Fearing the worst, a group of scientists placed their children in suspended animation and launched them at faraway planets, praying they would find a better life. One of these children landed on Earth, found by a family of apple farmers and raised as their own daughter, Applejack. However, in a twist of fate, her species gained incredible powers from consuming apples; super strength, near invulnerability, flight, and a host of other abilities. Raised with a strong sense of justice and integrity, the small town country girl became the invincible Ultragold, the unstoppable wonder.
Slapstick (Pinkie Pie)
Lonely and childless, ‘rock farmers’ Igneous Rock Pie and Cloudy Quartz made a pact with spirts of the earth. From four perfect stones, four children were formed, each with the power of the earth. But, unknownst to them, the fourth rock was a geode containing a mysterious pink crystal. While her sisters had super strength, Pinkamena Diane Pie developed strange and usual abilities that defied explanation; morphing her body in unusual ways, precognition, and even warping of reality itself. Combined with her love of comedy and laughter, Pinkie took the moniker Slapstick, and became the world’s silliest superhero.
Chimera (Fluttershy)
A shy and anxious girl, animal lover Fluttershy’s only human friend was the eccentric scientist Dr. Cord. One day, three of his ongoing experiments went awry at all once: Combining animal DNA, reversing entropy, and creating the perfect glass of chocolate milk. The resulting chaos mutated Dr. Cord’s body and mind turning him into Discord, the Lord of Chaos. Seeking a partner in chaos, he captured Fluttershy, seeking to transform her as well, but thanks to the aid of her animal friends, the process was sabotaged. She kept her mind, and instead gained the ability to morph any part of her body into any animal. When Discord attempted to conquer the world, Fluttershy overcame her fears, and, with the help of the girls who would become the Elements of Harmony, put an end to his reign of terror. With her newfound confidence, she adopted the name Chimera, and while her abilities are strong, her greatest power is her kind heart.
Thank you much for these. They're brilliant little gems of translating the characters to this genre. AJ literally getting her powers from apples is so on point it almost hurts.
