Medical Update for the end of the year · 11:50pm Dec 4th, 2012

I've kinda kept you guys out of the loop a little over the past week, sorry about that. But here's the score.

I had a setback, my wrist flared up really badly and I pretty much had to near enough force my way into the hospital to get it checked. No way am I waiting till the next appointment. I was told to do absolutely nothing (which is why some IRC folks may be wondering why I wasn't as chatty, I was just avoiding typing!) including play games or work on exercise with it.

But it apparently is just a blip. A little nerve that fired, so we're still on track to recovery.

I have an appointment next Tuesday with a specialist physio this time, who I am going to be getting really a kind of "decision" about it. I really hope so, I am actually sitting at my desk every night seething that I can't just open the document and write. But then I try something and feel the spiky little pinpricks of pain. It's driving me insane not to be able to keep writing.

But...assuming all goes right (I almost typed "write" there, see what this is doing to me?!) I should be back on the case this month, albeit in shorter bursts of activity. No more 23 pages in one day runs for me. As such I wish to set something.

I want to try and offer a chapter for you guys on Christmas Day.

It's...really the best I can hope for, to end the year with one and start a recovery into writing for the new year for a proper return to form. So...we'll see. I can't promise this, but I want to do it and if I can and it is healthy I will do it.

There is a light at the end of this. I've come too far to stop now, we're basically half way through! I've never had a project actually take off or gain readers before and I'm not letting this become just another unfinished thing of mine. I. Will. End. It.

So all best hopes for next Tuesday. Then maybe we can get back on track.

Thanks for everyone's patience and their support.

I don't read Murky Number Seven at all, but I hope you get better broski.

Good luck on Tuesday!

Get better soon, Fuzzy!

That must have been pretty scary.:fluttershysad:

All I can really say is good luck on Tuesday, and don't push yourself. I'm sure we'd all rather you recover completely than hurt yourself giving us a chapter.

Patience? If people are bored, it is with themselves they are bored. Life is a thousand times too short for us to bore ourselves.
And support? I have given you none. I shall rectify that. I hope your wrist recovers soon. Excuse how pitiful that attempt at "support" was.

I can feel your eagerness to continue through your words. This is all well and good. But you must train your mind to desire what the situation commands. And it commands that no writing shall commence at this time. Don't use the wrist, and you will recover quicker, like braking to take the apex of a turn makes your exit quicker.

Although I can't help but wonder if you could just type one-handed. Just a suggestion if you're that desperate to spout your words to torture Murky with. It may at least partially satisfy your craving, albeit rather sluggish and awkward, like some of that silly nicotine chewing gum designed to help smokers. You describe it as though you sit and stare at the document for hours, before attempting to write through your pain, maim yourself and resume staring at the document until the process repeats. This does not sound healthy. There must be something else you might be able to waste your time doing which doesn't involve such mindless torture.

pooooooooorn!!!!

Get well soon, man!
That about the Christmas chapter sounds awesome, but don't force it please. If it really hurts that bad as you say, it might be better to continue the writing break a bit longer before you, I don't know, seriously fuck up your wrist or something. You're helping no one if you can't continue writing at all, especially not yourself. So let's take it the old fashioned way of "Better late than never".
