Whaddya think of my new website design? · 12:13am Jun 26th, 2021

versus the old, current design:
My main goal with the redesign is to make it more interactive and colorful than just the current "black pinstripes" design that I've been using. Also, consolidate all the subdomains into pages on the same domain so that I can share resources between 'em more easily.
At the moment, I'm thinking of making the site a little more friendly for people who like to turn off Javascript. And everything else, for that matter. ('Cause the test case I'm using is an extremely lightweight browser that only renders the bare HTML itself. No Javascript or anything. Not even CSS.)
Once I finish adding the pages to the new site on the test domain, I'm gonna more or less flip a switch to replace everything on the main site with the new design. :V

Is good
Looks interesting! What frameworks and such are you using?

none lmao.
at most, I've been pulling in bits of Javascript here and there from other open-source projects on Github for small things, but for the most part it's all baremetal HTML and CSS.
That's a tough slog - developing a site without any kind of JS behind it. Even Bootstrap wants that much.

the only JS I've used for a functional purpose so far is to auto-populate the "stories" page with the relevant entries.

So just jQuery or such?

just a little bit, yeah. Most of the site is meant to be more of a directory to places I post stuff on like here and Youtube, so I'm perfectly fine with making a static site completely by hand. Gives me total control over how things work. :V
