Ehler-Danlos Awareness · 5:58pm May 1st, 2021
As I hope most of you know I was diagnosed with Ehler-Danlos about 2 years ago. May is EDS awareness month so to do my part I will be posting a random EDS fact every day as well as encourage you all to ask me questions. In return, I'm going to do my best to update as often as I can so here is random fact one!
Hi, Foals! Thank you for making us and others be more aware of this condition. It may help someone get diagnosed or help someone they care about get treatment.
As I see someone else has it besides myself on this sight

That is the hope!
Huh, I learned something new today. Cheers for that, mate.

You do anything weird with the loose joints? I used to be able to put my legs behind my legs but the years of use has lowered the extreme flexibility in my legs so I can’t any more

Oh yeah, thumb to the wrist easy cross all my fingers. My big trick is being able to bend my right knee back 27 degrees! My specialist says that wins me the gold medal and to never do it again!

Damn I can’t do that I can dislocate my thumb a bit but not to that level. Oh and bend my arm past the joint

I'm always told to be so careful not to hyper extend...My worst thing is how often I twist my ankle ><

but can you see why kids love the taste of Cinnamon Toast Crunch?

Same reason I do it's fucking delicious!

Yikes.
I don't have EDS (have half a dozen other things instead), but I've twisted/broken my left ankle so hard (like, oops, foot goes very sideways for a moment) enough times that the last time I did it I broke the tip off the bone entirely. There's a divot where the lateral ankle peak should be. I have no clue how it still works, but it works fine. That said, I don't play tennis anymore or run much, so I don't know if it's sport-worthy still.

Geez
(Sidenote: while the Vietcong definitely had some human rights violations, they were nowhere near as bad as American propaganda painted them.)

Ouch.
Well, question answered haha
