Chapter 18, 19, & 20 - 0.12 · 6:56am Dec 1st, 2012
Well that's a weird title! Anyway, a few tidbits first I suppose. Julia, as many of you know as my alpha proofreader, has discovered a serious... discrepancy in chapter 16. It has a weird repeating issue copied over from my phone which mysteriously duplicated the first three pages. It's now three pages shorter than prior, losing about two thousand, one hundred words. Definitely strange, but that actually makes me feel a little better! I had been concerned that I was making the chapters too long, so a shorter one in-between definitely paces it a little.
Further, I'm not entirely certain on this but I may have a vocal rendition of the second story being released alongside the chapters. I must speak further with the pony in question before anything becomes definite, of course. I honestly never expected this to be so popular. I'm happy that it's getting attention and making a lot of ponies happy, but I'm a little nervous at the same time that the sequel isn't going to live up to expectations. Still, all I can do is try my hardest! *focused, determined face*
Anyway, enough lollygagging! On to the actual title's news. Chapter eighteen and nineteen are fully completed and have already been returned by Julia! Now I'm just lagging about six chapters behind for my beta readers. But that's okay still. Chapter twenty is ALMOST done as I speak. Unfortunately I've encountered what can only be described as a rather large, chronologically related plot hole. This has caused me to go ALL the way back to the very first story and start taking detailed notes on time passage and information spread. That being said, I'm going to have to change a small portion of chapter twenty, yes, but I'm not going to be able to take the vote and move on very far without fixing the plot hole. Taking the notes on the first story is going to take me a little bit, unfortunately, so the true completion of chapter twenty is going to have to wait until next week, probably.
That said, I still fully plan on asking for a relaxed, informal vote in my next blog on what to do about the posting of the sequel. There will probably be three choices, each pony replying only getting one unique vote. Whichever option gets the most vote will be what I go with, of course. More details next week in the blog. Everypony seems so anxious to see the story, and I'm just sitting here feeling awkward because I want you to wait for the whole story's completion before it gets released.
While we're at it, I'd like to congratulate our little Kiro that he has written about as much as a modern novel. 140k+ words puts you firmly in the "a novel" territory.
