Behind the story: Harmonic Melody

No one, and I mean no one asked for this, but I really selfishly want to discuss Harmonic Melody. Let me first make a little disclaimer.
-I have no issues whatsoever with the ponies who enjoy HIE (Human in Equestria) but I myself have never really cared for it.

So when I started Harmonic Melody, I knew I didn't want to write HIE, but then I thought what about a pony going to our world? POE? Pony on Earth.
I also wanted to do something different, something I hadn't done before, and as I was thinking of which pony to write, Octavia came to mind. With how intelligent and noble she is, I felt her going to the human world would be quite the interesting dynamic.

But I also had to consider her roommate Vinyl Scratch or DJ-Pony3, whichever you call her, and how she'd react when Octavia just went MIA.

-Plot/Details.

So in the end I never did fully decide if Octavia and Vinyl were just friends or more than that, so I decided to let the writing flow. And right now, I still don't know how it will end up, but they truly do care for one another but I feel like Octavia's mindset is as much as she does care for Vinyl, she isn't sure if a romantic relationship is the right step for them.

And then boom, human world

Octavia is a very intelligent mare, and doesn't really freak out.

However, our human character Dylan has never seen a pony in his entire life, and is very freaked out by finding a mare in his closet. So the two of them must figure out how to get past this awkward period, in order to try to figure out how to get Octavia back to her world.

When it came to "magic" I put quite a few hidden references to Magic the Gathering (the card game.) to provide a bit of humor for those that play it.
Then Octavia talking about the magic of her world, and Dylan just not "getting" it.

And then you have the plot.
The plot could be as basic as "Get Octavia home"

but there's a lot of little snippets/background things going on all at once.
-Dylan is the leader of his own band, and is currently in high school, and dealing with the awkwardness of still living with his mom. No one knows what happened to his father.
-Octavia not only wants to go back to Equestria, but she also wants to figure out what her relationship with Vinyl really means, and what that means for their friendship. While also trying to understand this strange new world she's found herself in.

So yeah, that's basically it, I can't really say I expected this story to gain the following it has. I can only hope it's good and that I continue to improve so that you all may continue enjoying my content.

Length is not determined, but this is planned to be more a slow-grind kind of story, so likely it will go on for quite some time.
