I've Got It... · 8:48pm Nov 4th, 2020
Monday I went to my doctor to get tested. I just hear the results today, and I am positive for Covid-19. The good news is that my doctor thinks I'm already past the worst, despite the fact that I really haven't felt sick at all, which my doctor said is not uncommon for this disease. I'm going to be just fine, and my parents are pretty confident that they can avoid catching it from me. Mostly, I'm just incredibly frustrated over it. I did everything right, or at least as right as I possibly could have. I wore my mask, I washed my hands and used hand sanitizer, I avoided directly touching my face as much as I could. Sure there were some slips, but with everyone else at work brazenly not wearing any masks or anything, I thought I could get away with it, but apparently not.
Of course, I really feel for my department supervisor. I was pretty much the last guy she had left for various reasons, and now I'm out of commission for who knows how long as well.
Stay healthy everyone.
Try and stay safe, dude.
That's the thing about this crud, it's a virus. There is next to no way to reliably avoid it, and it basically has its choice of dozens of entry points. People hate it when its compared to the flu, but that's basically what this is, a particularly nasty strain that we don't yet have a vaccine for.
Oh my god, I am so sorry dude. I am just relieved that you say you are passed the worst and you should be fine. I will pray for your complete recovery.
Sorry to hear you got it. Glad to see your case was pretty mild.
Wearing a mask mostly protects the people around you, not you yourself.
If you were always wearing a mask, but your coworkers weren't, then you were protecting them from you, but you weren't protected from them.
