    Well, color me impressed.

All 78 episodes on 2 discs, the translation is just as solid as the Hulu version, the subtitles are on by default, and they even translated the mid-episode character cards.

Well, because there was no TYT this week...

Here's an absolutely adorable tutorial on how to hug your pony from doubleWbrothers.

So I've been busy away from ponies... Again...

With my quest/race to get a Rainbow S on all of Freedom Planet 2's stages, my creativity lit up like a bonfire again, and I started crafting an alternate ending of sorts for the past week.

That story is now complete, and posted in its entirety over on AO3.

I've never been a gun owner before. · 6:39pm Oct 27th, 2020

I've been in the market for a revolver for a little while now. Yesterday I made the mistake of asking to hold a S&W Model 610 6.5 barrel.

It fits my ridiculous hands perfectly, and looks and feels like something you'd save for the end of a Resident Evil game

I still remember my first gun purchase... *looks at 3 safes full now* warning it becomes a thing :rainbowlaugh:

Suggestion, go to a range that rents guns, and shoot many different ones. Really get a feel for what your looking for. Home defense? Carry (Concealed carry)? fun gun? Different firearms are going to serve a different nitch.

Absolutely great advice. It does become a habit of sorts once you figure out what your tastes are. The type of firearm you choose will have to fit your needs. I am a collector (albeit a small one) and have got some cool toys in the safe. A couple not so practical for everyday carry, but mainly because I love the way they look and feel.

I'm not planning on collecting. My first priority is home defense, followed by wilderness protection, and ease of maintenance/cleaning is a close third.

Which is why I settled on a revolver/six gun.

Caliber, barrel length, ease of reloads (does it have/will you have it modded for moon clips) all things you should consider too. Rarely will you find one gun that can do it all.

The old adage of "jack of all trades but master of none" really does apply with firearms.

First and foremost, welcome to the club.

Second, I had to stop and look up the Model 610, as I'm not familiar with it.

Third, despite management mishaps, Smith & Wesson is still regarded as being good. Although don't discount Ruger revolvers before getting the chance to handle them. Their Model GP100 is built like a fucking tank, strong as a bank vault, and is also able to use 10mm ammo.

I haven't made a decision yet.

Buying the Model 610 would wipe out a considerable chunk of my emergency fund, as it's a $900 revolver.

I've also got my eyes on the Rock Island M200, a far cheaper but dependable .38 special revolver. That's $200, but just a tad small for my hands, as every revolver I held yesterday, aside from the Model 610.

My final purchase decision may be dependent on one thing: which ammo is available first. It's fucking scarce everywhere because of the unstable political climate right now because of the damned election.

Yea it sucks I can’t really go to the range because to replace the ammo I would shoot would cost a fortune it’s almost a $1 a bullet

+1 on this.

Coming from someone who is heavily involved with firearms (FFL with SOT friends) this is great advice.

That said, the 610 is a very large revolver. Sure 10mm packs a punch though.

I’d also check out the assortment of Ruger GP100s, as a 6-7 shot (depending on model) .357 is a great choice. Plus you can shoot .38 special or super hot .357 loads out of it.

A good holster and speed loaders/moon clips is important, although practice, competency, and understanding laws regarding defensive use are vital.

Yep, it was the biggest, and most expensive, in the display case.

Cashier said 10mm is between 40 and 45. His words were "a 40 on steroids".

5387149
40sw is the child of 10mm. The FBI decided 10mm had too much recoil for a duty weapon, so .40sw was born for their trials in the 90’s.

Performance wise, you can get to .41 magnum performance, but it’s expensive to do so.

It’s a great caliber, but .357 is (usually)easier to find, cheaper, and will cover everything from self defense, target shooting, to black bears without issue. Depending on loads.

Ammo's been scarce even before this year got kicked off, long before the pandemic was on America's radar. I couldn't get my go-to carry ammo as far back as July of last year.

Seriously though, trying to get ammo these days is kinda like playing The Last of Us on hard or grounded mode.

He's not wrong, although it depends on which 10mm load you actually buy. I'll admit it's been a while since I've read on the subject, but I think some 10mm loads are just the .40 S&W loads in a longer casing, while others have more powder to take advantage of the greater capacity.

Got a Rock Island .45 GI model 1911. $400, and feel its money very well spent. Very solid construction, shoots great, only downside is finding ammo (thanks 2020, for everything 🖕🏼).

If only they were less expensive and so damn loud...
