Snow Heart
Snow Heart was visiting the beach. It was awhile since she had gotten to enjoy the sun. Despite being a bat, she wasn't just a creature of the night. She had invited her sister along, but she had declined her offer, and she ended up here by herself. Snow Heart was so accustomed to being on her own when she decided to break away from the Kingdom she had, but it was a bit lonely. she began looking around for any pony or creature that might be interesting to talk too, or thought it was weird for a bat pony to be out during the daylight.
Zale
Sitting down on his haunches, Zale closed his eyes and took in a deep breath of that fresh, salty sea breeze. The beach wasn't so bad he thought, at least he could relax here despite being dragged along by his mother. She's at the bar right now so he sat alone near the shore, thoughts drifting in and out of his mind.
Snow Heart
Snow Heart noticed a pony in the distance seeming to be lost in thoughts. Should she approach? What if he thought she was weird. She didn't know why she was so nervous. She hesitantly stood up, and trotted over to him. "Hello there, it's quite a lovely day isn't it?" Snow Heart was a bat alicorn, and her choice of swimming wear was a hot pink bikini that suited her blue coat, the only color that didn't jibe was the black collar around her neck.
Zale
Breaking from his thoughts in surprise, he quickly turns around and sees a bat pony.. with a horn? Zale's eyes widened in surprise and curiosity at the pony before him, but he didn't want to be rude, so he answered her. "It is kinda nice now that you mention it." With the magic of his horn, he took the towel that was next to him to wipe off some of the mucky sand that got on his mocha fur and dreads while he sat there. "So I'm here enjoying it while it lasts."
Snow Heart
"Yeah, it certainly won't last much longer. Fall will be here before we know it. I'm Snow Heart by the way, might I know who you are?" she asked politely, her violet hues looking directly at him.
Zale
"The name's Zale Haze, but most just call me Zale. Nice to meetcha miss Snow Heart." Zale's eyes drifted towards her horn again, and with his curiosity peaked, he asked the one question on his mind at the time. "So, you're a bat.. alicorn? I can't say I've ever seen anypony like you before." He added.
Snow Heart
"Yes, I'm a bat alicorn, but I was born with my horn. I was just a simple unicorn at one point in time. The wings came later, and the bat thing. I really don't even remember when or how that happened." she admitted sheepishly. She rubbed her foreleg against the back of her head. "So Zale, tell me what got you into mlp?"
Zale
He pondered on it for a moment before answering, and a little chuckle escape him. "Well when I first saw it, it was the first episode that aired, and I walked in on my little sister watching it." Zale put a hoof up to he chin and tapped it as he tried to remember the details.
"I think I was bored at the time and didn't have much else to do, so I sat down and watched it with her. At first I didn't really take it all that seriously, until we met the main characters for the series." He smiled in thought as he remembered the emotion he felt during that time. "The art and designs, the story and characters was really what hooked me from the start. A little later on, I can add the music to the list, and the development as pretty sweet too."
"So I guess you could say it's mere coincidence that I stumbled on the show, I never even knew that previous generations of mlp existed before then."
Snow Heart
"Ah I see. I found it through a certain cyan blue pegusus with rainbow mane and tail. Otherwise known as Rainbow Dash." Snow Heart chuckled, giggling to herself. "I admit for the longest time, I thought ponies were girly. Which you would think is weird because I'm a girl, but that's what I thought, but I couldn't be happier to be a part of this wonderful fandom and all the happiness it has brought me." Snow Heart explained. She looked to him. "Rainbow Dash is obviously my favorite, but who is best pony?"
Zale
"Out the the main cast, It's Rarity for me. Her personality and generosity pretty much reflects my own, and I relate to her in more ways than one." Zale put a hoof to his chest, looking thoughtful. "I feel like I found pieces of myself through her, and I'm grateful for that. Of course, I thought it was pretty frilly and girly at first as well, but I found that I'm quite fond of the art style and the world."
Snow Heart
"You don't have to pick one of the main cast, Rainbow is just who I connect most with due to how I discovered my love of ponies, but Rarity is great." Snow replied nodding her head. "I get compared to her a lot because I sew, I even have my own little etsy shop, but I am not nearly as fabulous as she is." she blushed slightly. "Anyways, we're not here to talk about me. We're here to talk about you. So tell me Zale, what inspires you to write?"
Zale
"To be honest, I just tried it on a whim and went from there. I guess I did get a bit of inspiration from a different artist, but most of it just came from a thought." Zale let out a sigh, drawing small circles in the sand. "Lately however, I find it hard to keep at it, especially with everything else I do, so progress has been a lot slower. But I still write a little here and there at the very least."
Snow Heart
"Awwwh." Snow Heart lifted a foreleg, and attempted to pat his head. "I'm sure you'll find time, it's all about inspiration and wanting to just do it. What inspires me really has changed over the years. It started out as a way to not be lonely because I didn't have friends, but now it's a way to share my passion with others like me." she admitted. "What advice would you give a new writer, just entering the frey for the first time?"
Zale
"Write at your own pace, and have a little fun with it. I'm still pretty green myself, so I can't really give much more serious or professional advice." Zale looked on at the ocean waves, swaying in motion with a serene breeze washing over. "Personally, I use it as a way to cope with some personal issues I have, and if that also works for you, go for it and don't hold back."
Snow Heart
"That's good advice, and I always say never be afraid to ask for help." replied Snow Heart, as she realized she might be taking up this pony's vacation time with questions for no reason. "So um...is there anything behind the pony you'd like to tell us?"
Zale
"Well, my pony isn't anything special. Just a simple unicorn with mocha very with varying shades of brown and dreads. How I made him, it was actually inspired from a game called TFH, the character Oleander has a Mocha skin, I love coffee, and a friend of mine drew him for me based on my IRL appearance."
Snow Heart
"I think you misunderstood the question. I mean is there anything behind the writer you'd like to tell us?" Snow Heart clarified.
Zale
"Oh, my bad. Well.. honestly? I'm just your average guy in a midlife crisis. I'm pretty open and chill, all my hobbies including writing are just things I do, just to do them and have fun." Zale thought for a moment before continuing. "In my story, I like to add in little tidbits of my life here and there as it serves a purpose, and I get to share it with all of you guys. .. I think that's all I can really think of to say."
Snow Heart
'Ah I see. Nothing wrong with that." replied Snow Heart. She herself was a mare still looking for her purpose, but she knew making others happy make her feel whole. Made her feel like she was really making a difference in this big wide world.* "Alright, just a few more questions and then I'll leave you to your relaxing. Would you care to tell us about a story that has helped inspire you? It doesn't have to be mlp even."
Zale
"Something that helped inspire me was a story by madmaxtheblack, Your Human And You." Zale smiled as he thought back to the story. "That helped my fuel the idea for my story, and I just took parts of my life and mixed it in. I still like to look for inspiration from other places as well, and sometimes all you need is a little push, with a lot of effort."
Snow Heart
"Ah interesting. I must admit I never heard of it, but I never really cared much for human in Equestria stories, and that sounds like one of those stories. Not that I would know." replied Snow Heart, as she rubbed a hoof behind her white mane. "Is there anything you'd like to ask me?"
Zale
"Well, what kind of stories do you prefer to read? I'm not very picky so I read all types of stories, a little bias against anthros but if the story is good I can look past that."
Snow Heart
"I prefer romance." replied Snow Heart honestly, as instinctively her left hoof went to the collar around her neck.* "Romance is something that for a long time I wanted in my life, but I didn't have. I'd be jealous of others at times even if I knew it was wrong. So since I couldn't have it, I could at LEAST read it, and that's why I love romance stories. Though I do enjoy slice of life, comedy, and even drama, and I do love me a good mystery tale. I never thought I could have a romance of my own, I didn't really think any pony would want me. And yet here I am, happy, and loved by a very special some pony." little hearts swirled over her head. "Oh forgive me, I shouldn't ramble on. Um...is there anything else you'd like to say?"
Zale
Zale put a hoof to his chin once more, contemplating."Hm.. no I think that's all I got for now."
