Updates, future plans, and other good news · 2:04pm Oct 2nd, 2020
For those of you faithful readers who follow Rekindled Embers, a quick update.
As many of you may know, I write far in advance of the release schedule. As of this blog post, I just released the edited version of Chapter 17, and I'm currently working on the first draft of Chapter 35.
Second, if you haven't noticed, I try to post worldbuilding/interesting side notes in the comments for each chapter. Watch for my comments for some fun but unnecessary insights into the world!
Third, I recently have started reaching out to try to join some different groups on FimFiction, and make more friends. I joined the My Little Reviews and Feedback group, and I'm having a blast.
Last of all, I also recently discovered speed writing. Also having a blast. I did a tiny speedwriting competition with some friends and produced a Rekindled Embers side story... that none of you will see for months. Sorry. It has some moderate to mild spoilers, though, so I'm going to hold off until we get a little further in the main story. The title is "A Word for Ponies Like You", and focuses on the struggles of a trans pony in a conversion therapy prison camp. Yeah. it's really dark, but I'm happy with it and excited to share it with you some day.
But on that note, I had so much fun speed writing that I'm probably going to do a bit more, and there may be more Rekindled Embers side stories coming up. I have a few ideas for short bits, such as how Lady Amaranth (the fighting instructor back at the Ivy Seminary) and Lady Mercy Song became friends (and how Mercy got her scar). Or another about how Emberglow's parents met. I've got a few ideas, so stay tuned.
