This Post Will Probably Make You Hate Me... · 10:36pm Sep 22nd, 2020
But it has to be said...
People do not get bullied for being bronies. They get bullied because they are an easy target and/or uncool, and thus would get bullied for nearly anything.
Ever since I joined the fandom in 2013, there have been countless tales of people getting bullied for being male fans of MLP. The bullying would either be by family, friends, or girls who rejected them.
With the exception of minors getting bullied by their parents (and those parents are quite frankly pieces of shit for bullying their own kids)... there really is no excuse.
Note, that this does not make bullying right or justified. But it does mean that insecure jerks are going to bully you if they can.
Take this dude for instance...
Even if he wasn't a brony... he's the type of guy who'd still be relentlessly bullied by his peers. A teenage girl could probably bully him. Him being a brony would NOT be the root cause of his bullying.
On the flipside...
- I've told my fraternity brothers that I'm a brony (as well as other guys who are the "bullying type")
- My profile pic on a popular MMA board was the cutest pic of Twilight I could find
- I've literally flirted with girls in real life using MLP (and these were girls who were digsuted by the thought of men liking MLP)
Just be the opposite of that guy in the pic... and no one will do anything, because they can't do anything. Just don't do something dumb like wear a MLP shirt during a job interview or something haha.

My fiancee does often say that I'm like Lucifer from the show "Lucifer" lol.
But in all seriousness... I've wanted to make this post for a while now. It just needed to be made.
yeah...I try to have a live and let live attitude, and I wear weird socks to work, sometimes after I get off I've changed into an mlp themed shirt, but this guy is pushing the limit a tad bit.
The Root cause is the bully. But if you are buff and dangerous-looking enough no one will mess with you. Even wearing a Pinkie Pie shirt.
I mean would you mess or refuse to give a job to THIS guy if he were wearing a Pinkie Pie shirt?
I have Thorax as my name CoD MW and Brony as my Clan tag.
One day, some guy in lobby called me a brony fag.
I laughed... then he laughed...then someone else started laughing...
That was the end of it.
Most of my bullies in middle school were my friends in high school.

That's great that you were able to defuse the situation that way props to you.
Sadly, I've heard stories and in the 2011-12 (or thereabouts) documentary about bronies, not all bullies are so easily swayed. IIRC, there was this one guy who had his rear car window smashed in by some guys because he had a pony sticker or sun-visor or something along those lines, they even went so far as to "playfully threaten him" because of his not being "manly" enough.

My PS4 tag was Rainbow Dash like forever, nobody in any game ever said anything, other than one guy who wouldn't stop laughing in a shooter once, but it was because he said. " Wow, it hurts to not only be killed by a girl over and over, but a mlp fan too." XD.
I agree bullying is just something that people resort too, because they're unhappy with themselves.
If you never let it affect you, then they lose all power.
I've been bullied more by DBD than ever for mlp, lol.
I still have Fluttershy earphones I use, they're my absolute favorite!
Nice, I'm surprised that this blog isn't filled with angry comments.

@ Disavowed
I can vouch for this. I'm not that big yet (6'2 190 lbs), but that plus my boxing training allows me to have more "freedom" to say and do things compared to most people in most social settings. That said, you don't *need* size or the ability to fight to get away with this. My best friend is 5'9 and scrawny and could dress in a Fluttershy shirt simply because he's so confident and socially smooth.
Regarding bullies being the root cause of bullying (which is why I also tagged River Shy)... you two have a good point haha. But while it may be true in a sense, it doesn't really offer any sort of solution to the victim. Making yourself unable to be bullied is just a more practical, realistic, and winning plan of attack. There are always gonna be insecure dipshits in life. Besides, being unable to get bullied just feels more awesome haha.

Awesome way of handling the situation! You remind me of my best friend that I talked about above.

You know those attackers aren't that "manly" when they need to be in a group to threaten a single dude. Besides, clinging onto others' opinions of "manliness" and how you should live your life is the most unmanly thing I can think of. Bunch of losers.

Had to look up what DBD is haha. Why would you be bullied for that?
Yep. The best way to put it. I'm more of the confrontational type (since it's more fun), but this is a solid way to deal with it as well.
I would be afraid to wear any kind of pony apparel in public, not even because of bullying. I would instead die of embarrassment.

Ah, the days when PSN wouldn't let you change your name no matter what. Glad that's over with. Kinda surprised you didn't get more flak while playing competitive shooters.

1. I'm xbox... so that might have something to do with it... maybe...
2...
I am 26, and I've found that 95% of people around my age dont ACTUALLY give a crap about anything other than their families, thier paychecks, and their time off work. They forget about everything else after about 10 minutes.

100% I'd blame the rapist. That said, I treat rape/sexual assault and verbal bullying as two separate things that are completely incomparable levels of seriousness.
Like I said, I do agree that the real root cause of bullying is the bully. My main issue is that this type of thinking works in an internet discussion like this, but not real life.
I wish reporting bullies to school officials always worked in K - 12, but it unfortunately rarely does, meaning the victim has to essentially figure it out on their own.
And beyond high school, you're on your own even more. Imagine going to a house party in college/in your 20s, and a group of guys/girls start giving you crap. You have no choice but to stand up for yourself in some way.
That's usually true, but very often isn't. I've experienced people being bullied for basically everything, sometimes for being in the norm (making fun of them for being "normies"). Let's put it this way.... if someone is an easy target, you can bully them for not being a grown man who watches MLP haha.
Hard disagree here,. Like I said in another comment here, my best friend is a short, scrawny dude who could rock a MLP shirt to a party if he wanted to simply because he's confident and socially smooth. You don't need to be any ideal to not be bullied. Just have the confidence to stick up for yourself verbally, and you're good to go for the most part.

Well, I was usually always nice to people, didn't give them much reason to hate on me.
Also I used to be able to create awesome mlp emblems.
My best was Rainbow Dash with a hunting knife in her mouth, with a trickle of blood running down past her muzzle.

Dead by daylight is a very toxic group, kind of... Basically everybody yelling at everybody for cheating lol.
If a survivor team wins the killers gripe, if a killer wins then the survivors will always yell camping etc.
It's a fun game but if you win any match, you'll always get a pm cursing you.
5362793
Yeah, it's just that competitive shooters seem to bring out the worst in people if they know you're a girl. That's a pretty cool emblem though. I once a used a generic unicorn logo but that was about it.
5362793
Any pics of that emblem? It sounds awesome.
5362887
Sadly no, I should redownload a COD game, just to recreate it.
5363599
If you do ever recreate it, let me know haha
