    Well, color me impressed.

All 78 episodes on 2 discs, the translation is just as solid as the Hulu version, the subtitles are on by default, and they even translated the mid-episode character cards.

So I've been busy away from ponies... Again...

With my quest/race to get a Rainbow S on all of Freedom Planet 2's stages, my creativity lit up like a bonfire again, and I started crafting an alternate ending of sorts for the past week.

That story is now complete, and posted in its entirety over on AO3.

What the hell is Nintendo's game, here? · 3:59am Sep 14th, 2020

So Super Mario 3D All Stars was announced recently, slotted for release this Friday, along with Super Mario 35, on October 1st, which is what looks like a fascinating Tetris-99-esque twist on the legendary platformer.

But the announcement came with a puzzling footnote; these games would be available, both physically and digitally, only until March 31st, 2021.

I have really only one word; why?

Decisions like this just puzzle me. Limited time on a digital release is the very definition of 'artificial scarcity'. Not to mention it's pure scalper fuel when it comes to physical copies.

It makes me nervous for potential future announcements like bringing the Metroid Prime Trilogy to the Switch. Watch it come with an asinine stipulation that only Nintendo seems to be capable of.

Like it will only be playable on every third Tuesday of the month, for five months.

You can now play Melee on Switch!

But only if you use Joy-Cons. If you connect a GameCube proxy controller, we'll remotely set your Switch to self destruct and delete your Animal Crossing save data.

Oh there's a reason for it. That annoyed consternation, that Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) drives even more people to make the purchase, and as soon as possible. Having all the profit be made in the first week makes it super easy to show something off to shareholders.

Fear of FOMO drives me away from so many games. Like, Warframe is fun until you twig to the limited-time unvaultings and events and nightwave and then it's just stressful.

Nintendo was never intended to be trusted.

For the record Nintendo has done this kind of thing in the past when they released Mario All Stars on the wii for a limited time as part of the 25th anniversary, though they did eventually release more copies due to high demand.

Point is its dumb but let's not make a bigger deal of it than it is.

I think once the date is up the three games, along with Galaxy 2, are gonna be individually available on the Eshop. This date could be seen as a bad thing, but it could be one of those elaborate Nintendo hints at something even bigger on that date.

What's even worse is how lazy Nintendo is about remastering these games, and the fact that they're charging a whopping $60 for the whole package even though the remasterings of Crash and Spyro sold for considerably less.

Crash and Spyro sold for less because the publisher didn't have confidence they would sell at full price. Nintendo knows full well this will sell at full price so why sell at a discount? It's just good business.

5355217 Maybe, but the fact that they couldn't be bothered to put Super Mario 64 in widescreen even though they did it for Sunshine, and couldn't be bothered to allow Gamecube analog support for Sunshine just seems to imply that they wanted to do the bare minimum in remastering the games. I'm not as mad about excluding Galaxy 2 since Galaxy 2 has been said to be more like an expansion pack or DLC of the first Galaxy, so Nintendo probably didn't wanna bundle two relatively similar titles into the same collection.

Nintendo has always, always been bad about this.

I don't want to think of how much I've spent on separate copies of Super Mario World over the past 10 years.

Apparantly people have found you CAN use your GameCube controller with Sunshine
