Asking for a friend...who may or may not have completed another trip around the sun just now. 
Seriously, with how this year has gone I feel like we should get a mulligan for getting older. Then again, I'd say many of us feel we aged 5+ years in the last six months alone. :(
Anyway, so yep, another birthday for me. One step closer to 40. Ugh. Kinda hard to celebrate much when the best you can do is some takeout, since I'm not comfortable at all yet with dine-in, everywhere I could go for fun is either still closed or not worth the trip for 10-20% capacity, and my work furlough's been extended to October 1.
I honestly thought I could pour myself into writing to keep myself occupied. Yeah, I forgot to factor in constant worry about money, family's health, my wife's job, and whether my job's going to be there at all next month.
Hope all of y'all are staying safe and healthy. Hug your loved ones, and please do all you can to support good health patterns in your area. The faster this ends the better for us all.

Seriously though, I hope things pull together a bit for you. All kinds of various factors playing in—being immunosuppressed and living in the outskirts of NYC just to name a couple—I've gotten lucky and managed to avoid catching Covid. Already working from home certainly helped.

Yes, birthdays matter. Even more so this year. Despite all the frustrations and worries, it's another chance to celebrate and appreciate the most important thing of all: the love of family and friends.

Yeah I definitely feel like I've been 20 forever. Once I turn 21 I'll be asking if I can retire yet.
