Perfect Game Complete, New Scheduling Scheme · 3:19am Aug 16th, 2020
I finally completed "Perfect Game." I do feel sad, I always do when completing a story, but I'm also happy, because writing Perfect Game was a tough task. You can see the length of it: 14 chapters, plus an epilogue. Over 28,000 words. From what I've seen, that is quite long for a fanfic. And then there was something about Perfect Game itself that made it more difficult to write than my other two stories. Not sure why; it just was.
Now on to the second topic. For my entire writing journey here on Fimfiction so far, I have written one story at a time. I fully complete that story before starting on a new one. I have never worked on two at once. But due to several reasons, I am going to change that.
The first reason is that I sometimes have trouble figuring out what order I want the stories to be in. The schedule is subject to change depending on how I feel. I recently moved the story that was in my #9 spot up to #7, due to gaining more excitement for that story. That ended up continuing; I wanted to move story #7 up even further, but I also didn't like the idea of moving #4, #5, and #6 down. Working on two at once will solve that problem.
And the second reason, story #5 will be unusual in that it doesn't have a clearly defined ending that I can foresee. Unlike Double Injury: Guilt and Perfect Game, it has no goal that the characters are trying to reach, nor is it a sequel. I have no idea how far that story will go, and as such, it made sense to me to allow myself to work on story #6 while #5 is still in progress.
So yeah. From here on out, there will sometimes be two incomplete stories on my page at once, and a story may be completed before one of the stories that appeared before it, due to different lengths and such.
I look forward to writing more!
