Well, I finally got a response to my story I entered for "Depth of Innocence" contest. Honestly, I didn't think it would win, but I at least figured it would be read by someone, but two people (I think, unless both are same account) explained to me why it won't be read. One said the story is disqualified for being mostly complete before a certain date, and the other explained that that person felt uncomfortable reading a sequel to yet another story that wasn't read, and the other is too long to dig into.
I have a strong feeling that's a common response. The reason hardly anybody is reading it is because it seems a far more daunting project is in the way.
I actually did have yet another sequel being written before I was suddenly assaulted with ideas for "The Shadow Queen". I finished the prologue for it (although it was broken up into 6 parts to make it shorter and easier to read) but I lost heart in it when I noticed how neglected "My Little Detour" was and I had a strong inkling as to why.
I don't think I'm going to write sequels to my stories anymore. At least not for anything MLP related.
Decently saddening.
Sorry to hear. Don’t give up hope. Maybe not this contest but maybe another contest.
