Dashville Group Creation

So, I ended up creating a group for my Dashville EqG AU setting.

totallynotabrony is getting ready to publish a story set in that continuity, and as Shrink Laureate has pointed out, once you've got multiple authors working in a sandbox, the sandbox needs a group to anchor the stories set in it.

Probably means that I need to set something up similar for the Good Trooper stories. But not tonight.

So, anyways. New group! And new story, in a day or two when totally feels like it's ready. I've been fairly active in helping w/ editing. I have an invested interest, after all.

I never really thought about doing a Pinkie Pie story set in this continuity. TBH, my future ideas about the setting are more about Applejack getting into trouble, and Rarity being... Rarity.

Only, hipster Orthodox Rarity. Because that's what this AU is about.

...Haven't gotten very far in Twilight In Plain Sight yet, amongst all the other stories I have piled up, but I was enjoying it. :)

She's not in Twilight In Plain Sight. Having all the six in the same obscure Virginia hill town seemed a bit overly fortuitous. All at once, anyways.

Rarity's in EqG Manehattan, getting in touch with her Cantorist roots and having her heart broken by the ruthless garments trade of the Big Apple.

Eventually the city will break her, and she'll go up into the country, looking for refuge and a shabbos Apple.

[now wondering what exact meaning "Cantorist" has here and, having looked up "shabbos" and, possibly significantly, not read the Applejack story, when it means too]

...Argh, now I'm wanting to read more of this universe, and I wouldn't even have to wait for a new story for it! I have so many things to read, though! D:

(By the way, if you don't mind me asking, does Dashville correspond to, or is it based on, anywhere in particular? I know there's an Asheville in the North Carolina part of the Blue Ridge Mountains, for instance; that seems likely to be too big, though.)

Dashville is a combination of a number of different towns. It's where real-world Bristol, VA is located, but is heavily based on the town I live in, in most of its physical qualities, just scaled up a bit and merged with a college town.
