Throwing out a blogpost because the thought came to mind but
I really feel like Crimson would be a really solid original fiction, so I’m starting to really considerrrrrr making it original fiction, but that would mean having to take it off Fimfic, and I don’t know what to do.
I’ll probably finish it here while simultaneously converting it to original fiction and then once that’s done take it off here?
Idk. I just honestly feel Crimson has some of my best writing ever, and I hate the fact that I can’t...do something... with it.... bleh....
At the end of the day, it's your story. Do whatever you want with it.
You do what you feel is best, Mono. It is wonderfully written. That is what makes it such a fantastic story, with or without Rarity and Twilight. Your writing is outstanding!
I can definitely see it working well as original fiction, yeah. As others have said, do what you think best--it's your story. I just hope you'll let us know ahead of time when you're going to be taking it down from Fimfiction, because I'd really like to download a copy of the pony version before it goes away.
Should you take it off for original fiction, you damn well better point us all in a direction to get it when it's out.

I would hope that this Crimson will make it into another of your books before it disappears. Then I would also want a copy of the 'new' version with original characters.

It is good enough to stand on its own, especially with the feel and world you've created for it.
However... I'd say leave the original version up as well. The internet is large enough for both.
I’ll echo the general sentiment: it is your story, and if it’s strong enough to stand on its own, it deserves to do so. I’m less certain about leaving the current version posted here, for what I suspect are the same reasons you’re considering, but I also am not certain removing it is necessary. If you decide to go ahead with removal, yes, please do give folks plenty of warning so they can grab copies before it disappears.
So long as you give us a link, I don't care where it goes!
Why not just leave the fan fiction version up and link us to the original story version when the conversion's done? I don't see why this version needs to disappear.
I'll take ten copies of Crimson in any form.
You should do whatever you think is best, but a warning before you take it off the site so we can download and save it would be much appreciated!
I’m all for the idea of finishing the pony version and then removing it when the conversion is ready. I’d hate for poor Rarity and Twilight to be left in limbo, after all, and I think you deserve to reap the feedback of all those who love the story here as you finish workshopping it in Pony form.
You’re right that it’s a strong, intriguing work far removed from the show already and could easily stand on its own.

THe problem with that is, from what I've seen, fmifiction is one of the few fanfic/og fic sites that actually has good ui. I'd still read it, mind you, I just hat bad ui.
